A Quote from the Nashville Shooting

They are getting their hands on more and more of the shooter’s journal.

Below is one source.

While some might be tempted to simply point to the transgender issue, I think there’s a bigger issue. Here are some random thoughts after reading the article.

  1. It’s clear there was a large amount of sexual perversion with this young lady. She actually calls herself a pervert in her journal. The connection between perversion and murder has been found in other mass murderers, if I recall correctly.

  2. She lives in a world where she refuses to believe reality. Her journal indicates that she could become a man. Most of us here would assert that radical surgery doesn’t change one’s gender. There are plenty of anecdotes that indicate it’s not all roses when someone undergoes this kind of radical surgery. She was never going to find what she was looking for since she refused to accept reality.

  3. There is a rebellion against authority. I am not arguing for a 100% completely compliant attitude with every authority. But her disdain for her own parents is shocking to me as a parent. I would be horrified if my kids were saying those kinds of things about me. Obedience to parents and submission to legitimate, appropriate authority is an important life skill.

  4. She clearly hated religion. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say her anti-religious ideology likely played a part in this.

  5. To say this young lady was mentally ill seems legit.

  6. I’m not quick to jump on the most-mass-shooters-are-on-psychotropic-drugs bandwagon. But I wonder what medication she was on. She received counseling services from a hospital for 22 years.

This is sad all around and I wish this poor soul had gotten peace before she unleashed her own lack of peace on others. In many ways I pity her. For those of us who hold to a certain worldview, this young lady has not found any relief from her torments.
