I usually post some of the article but in this case I think the point is Crystal Clear just in the header. It’s a good article worthy of your time but the point is made right away.

Relying on another to keep you SAFE will get you and yours DEAD!
Some here have said ‘Don you are an alarmist’ in private messages.
They don’t have the cojones to say that in the Public Forum for all to read.
This is why I post like I do.
My belief system is ‘PROTECT YOUR OWN’
‘There is NO Calvary coming over the hill to save you anymore’. (You want Calvary? Watch a movie)
What happened in Israel is a perfect example of ‘Failed trust in Government’. (per this article)
I DO NOT live in Fear.
I AM Situationally Aware at all times and sufficiently ARMED!
(I now have a firearm within reach at all times. (JIC))
This is not a gloom and doom situation I am speaking of today, it is our current reality.
We need to be AWARE and Conscious in everything we do today.
Please have a care out in the World.

Totally agree. Only gun accessible right now is my carry gun. Wife finally made me lock up all others because of our 14YO daughter. Its not her cuz shes trained but its her bat shidt crazy friends that come over (arent all teen girls?) Who most have never probably held a firearm.

Easy to get to rifles but its a time thing, sometimes no time. Thinking of getting one of those single rifle racks that you bolt to the wall and uses biometrics to unlock. That way atleast i will have my AR in our bedroom closet and teens cant get to it, but it will be there.

Just do what I did, Brother. Ban the bat shidt crazy friends from coming over. All my boys are trained, all their guy friends are trained (and usually have their own weapons when they show up) and every single one of them knows the DAD (me) IS BAT SHIDT CRAZY.

Here I thought it was just me. There’s just so much going on, can’t keep track and the frustration level exceeds 100. In particular these pissant judges who think they control the executive branch! I’ve been silent on most topics, just waiting till the dust settles. Perhaps 2028 :red_question_mark:
If we have to spend our time in the courts there’ll be no time to spend on the country! These people truly want us AMERICANS dead!
I’m waiting for the nomination of some killer illegal alien to run for president. I’m not going to be surprised.
It’s the only logical move the idiots have left! I pray we move prior to that.

I have long been confused by the negative connotation given to the term “Alarmist.” One thing I have learned in my 60+ years is that ignoring any alarm is always worse than responding to it. If someone sounds an alarm, you should always, at the very least, investigate to determine if it is valid or false. To dismiss it outright because it doesn’t seem likely can end up with you trapped in a burning building or surrounded by a mob that is angry about anything and looking for someone to take it out on.

Why do you suppose the Dems are spending so much effort on bringing Garcia back from El Salvador. I believe that’s what you’re alluding to. Their next political hero awaits. Their goal is to see him go from poster child to president. Just wait, their next push will be to amend the constitution to allow immigrants, illegal or not, to run. Their next political agenda will be based on what what we’ve all hear too often from them: America is a land of immigrants.

And unfortunately it’s too late to save those massacred 1200+ victims. Good on the Israelis for taking responsibility now. Hopefully something like Oct 7 never happens again.

I don’t need to say it to this audience, but I will, anyway :grin: none if us can be too prepared for our own safety.

Think about your entire daily routine. Where you go, where you spend your time. Where you might be when bad stuff starts flying, because it truly can happen anywhere.

I spend most of my time either at home or at work. The hours I’m at home are also mostly nighttime hours when criminals like to operate. Therefore, I have my home as much of a fortress as I can make it. I’m carrying a pistol on my belt at all times I’m awake. My HD rifle is set up for close in defense in the house, or for 50-100 yards outdoors should things go really far south, and it’s always at hand, not locked up when I’m home. Motion alarms alert me to any movement, anywhere on the property. Usually it’s an animal, but to Daniel’s point above, when an alarm sounds, we’re on the ready and checking it out. My wife and I know our plans, and we practice, to be ready for whatever could go wrong at home.

Out and about, I’m as well armed as my clothes will allow at the time. However, more importantly, I don’t go out if it looks like there could be unrest. I plan ahead so I don’t need to buy gasoline at night if at all possible. I avoid crowds. I avoid areas that could be trouble spots. Pretty much, I try as hard as possible to never put myself or my wife in a position of needing our weapons. Still, with these and other self imposed guardrails on my life, I’m able to do anything I want, I just take a little time to plan for safety.

Anyway, good thread @Don102 . A locked up gun is useless, and no one owns our own security except us. Our founders were geniuses, and recognized that 250 years ago. We owe it to them to all exercise our right to armed self defense, and the defense of our communities and our country when it’s needed.

I don’t think that’s the case anymore. They are operating freely and more brazen than ever before! Me thinks that’s why I’m so furious! Our lives have changed.
I used to spend more time outside my house than inside. Even my appointments and shopping are based around a one day trip in a loop.
If I’m going to be out, everything or as much as possible, will be done that day. I can’t remember the last time I purchased gas at night,
I think it was 1985.
Having my head on such a swivel, at this age, now requires maintenance, from the doctors. As a matter of fact it’s not so swively anymore. It’s more like, “slowly I turn and step by step, inch by inch…”! Some of you may not be that old! NIAGRA FALLS :rofl:

Our day is done before the sun sets (usually) Cars n Trucks gassed up and put away before dusk. No shopping, meal runs after dark. Not out of fear just a new way of doing things.
I’m showered and in my Tactical sweats before 17:00. I’m not running out my door with a gun in hand in my skivies! If trouble comes it has to get through my Steel doors!
Costco is expanding their Gas Station so they are down to (6) lanes open, you want gas after
13:00 bring a book! :joy: I do everything EARLY now, and like you as much as I can in one trip.
I use to see Cop’s Patrol after dark …no more of that. As reported our ‘Substation’ is CLOSED @ night. Gives me the warm. fuzzies. (NOT) Sitting on my Couch now my .44 is right on top next to one of my Cats. NO FEAR just practical I can’t run to my War room anymore, undo the door code, then select a weapon if the Wolf is @ the door. I had Ammo delivered yesterday,
We were out in the back spreading mulch, if they rang the doorbell we didn’t hear it. My cell phone buzzed and FED EX alerted me to the delivery. I got out front and hauled in the box just in time to see a guy in a car eyeballing me. If I waited any longer …

I just detailed my cars with my AR15 leaning against my Garage center post, Smith on my hip Life is grand!,
But in keeping with this thread I don’t own a SAFE. My GUN ROOM IS THE SAFE. Key code on the door lock, No kids ever around, if they are just lock the door. I try to do all repairs myself.
I don’t want anyone seeing my Security system(s), My old Ruger is on the top shelf in my Fridge.
I have Guns all over the house. My Sister Crochets with her Revolver on her End table.
It’s all how you look @ sh!t these days. I was NEVER an optimist (Life is Great! :ox: :poop: on that.)
But now I’m Happy. Would I love Life to be better? More Bread? Less Leftist Anarchy? sure. But I drive my Turbo Jag to work (4) days week, Gun on my seat next to me and I order Th$usands of dollars in Plane parts EVERYDAY!. I just ordered a $300K Cessna Motor! what a kick.
