Your Makarov is a .380?

Thank you all for helping her ( my wife). While I have opinions I told her to seek other opinions so to have a better understanding of her options. We are currently at gun range going to rent a 380 possibly a 38 or 32 to try and see what she likes

Might be hard to find one for rent, but 22 Magnum is available in pistol and revolver.

NAA has a nice little .32 ACP. It is not as lightweight as perhaps the Taurus .380, but it is a nice solid firearm.

And rifle, so you would have three firearms options and the rifle for small game or perhaps even larger game that are attacking you… (that last would be more for SHTF scenarios, as otherwise, a distance shot would be difficult to justify as self defense.

2nd the comment on the S&W .380 EZ. Wife loves hers. It’s very soft shooting and accurate. With a CT laser it’s deadly.

I don’t understand your statement.

Try the M&P 9mm Shield EZ I believe it would be right up your alley.

I’m wondering if of gun manufacturers have started developing their own version of EZ yet!?
The market is there.

I asked @Hasaf if his Makarov was a .380. The .380 is a 9X17, and the Makarov is usually a 9x18, while the standard 9mm we use is a 9x19.

I must add, most Makarovs are 9x18, they do make .380, but am not sure of the availability of those.

So it was a question regarding the Makarov pistols he stated he had in a comment.

Sorry, I missed it, the Makarov is 9x18. I still frequently lump it in with my 9x17s’ because they are very similar in power level. There is also the point that it is my only centerfire blowback pistol and I was discussing the rarity of straight blowback pistols in the current market place.

All of my 380s’ use some form of delayed locking system. Interestingly, at least to me, is that the 380 barrel and slide assembly on the 1911-380 use a delay, as can be seen in the picture, but the 22 slide assembly, using the same frame, is straight blowback. The result is that the felt recoil is very similar in both calibres.

Thanks.
I was curious. There are .380 Makarovs but I am not as familiar with their availability and was not sure if you had one of them or the usual 9x18.

LC380 is also out there for Ruger. I can’t comment on it as I haven’t had an oportunity to shoot it. I do carry an LCP as back up.
