Yep, my old Chevy truck was made in 1995. Makes me want to keep it forever.
I love 90s jeeps. Xj, yj, tj, cj, imma jeep guy. Was never much into the ZJ platform. Parts are stupid abundent because of the crazy amount of aftermarket for them and how large of an enthusiast base they have. Most common issue is the crank trigger going bad. They are like $20, i keep a spare in the glovebox lol
Absolutely. But hackers are rarely investigated, prosecuted or imprisoned by law enforcement, so it would be a murder without a punishment as a practical matter.
I’ve been told that European made cars do not have a remote start feature. The lack of that may be a desirable feature.
My buddy was a Nissan master technician, customer brought in his year old xTerra suv without a scratch on it and ALL the airbags blown!!!
He said they just all blew driving down the road getting ready to get on the highway. ![]()
When he looked in the computer, the gps sure enough put him near a highway on ramp. The truck was in 2wd moving under 2mph, but registered over a 55* off camber incline indicating a potential imminent rollover.
Closer look at the gps revealed that he had missed his exit and tried to drive down the incline between the two roads!
If he had shifted to 4L it wouldn’t have set the airbags off without an inertia sensor being triggered as well as the inclinometer reading.
Customer stupidity isn’t warranty
I was Chevy tech for 5 years too,… I had a customer wanting warranty to repair her car after she hit a deer!!!
It wasn’t the computer that let me know what happened,… it was the blood guts and fur dangling from the underside!
Again, customer stupidity isn’t warranty.
What’s with you the last day or so? Did I step on your tail or something?
It is a declaration of WAR to burn down THAT ‘WH’ ! Torch the ugly one!
(with them in it! would be a Plus Plus!)
"Did she have a nice RACK?
Did she have a million BUCK’S?
or just a little bit of DOE?
Was her name Bambi?
Oh, I kill me! ![]()

Now THAT’S SEXY! Hubba Hubba!
(I have a one fork mind!)
yep, most people back then didn’t realize that the free year of XM radio was to transmit the telematics data to GM for the first year of ownership. You could disable the entire system by unplugging the integrated sat antenna on the roof for the XM. I had so many people beg me to disable it.
Well ‘RM’
You EVER get to my neck of the sand I’d appreciate you disabling all my ‘Whale Fin’ antennas.
(I’ll make you Waffle’s…deal?)
Actually I am asking my mechanic the very thing Monday
Just unplug it, they are powered.
Unplug it?
Under the dash?
or at the ‘Fin’?
Depends on the fin. Or cover it in tin foil. ![]()
My vehicles have that stylin’ new Reynolds wrap design (Tin foil and duct tape!)
(People signal me all the time to talk to me…maybe it’s the GLARE?
or the sharp design? or the (30) Chickens I have roasting on the Barbie-roof rack?
depends on the vehicle. The GMs I used to do it on was in the roof right above the driver side sun visor. Pull the sun visor by popping the couple of screws out and pop the a pillar plastic off and you could snake your hand up between the head liner and the roof and unplug them
