When to use your firearm and never keep one in the chamber

Are you calling My Wife a WITCH???

Well…because…

SHE IS.

And just for the record, I have no Idea what hexes or curses she enchants her ammo with to add damage points. Her 9mm may actually have the power to rip a lung out like Creepy Uncle Joe claims.

YOU HAD SAID SHE WAS BROTHER, I just go with what I’m told here. My Late Wife and I many Moon’s ago use to Pet/House sit a Wiccan’s Doberman’s (3) (and you bet yer arse I was ARMED @ all times). I got a clue when I was first in her house and noticed her ‘Broomstick’ collection mounted high up on her walls. I made the mistake of saying ‘It’s a good thing you can levitate’ or you’d be walking everywhere!’ —-she turned me into a Newt!—- I got better!’ ARGH! (Monty Python reference obviously)

And YES, I carry one in the Pipe all the time, Most of my sidearms have no external safeties. You TRAIN UP and you lose that fear of Accidental Phuck up’s. Sometimes you don’t have seconds to rack the slide.

I am not denying that, I am just asserting that any “advantage” you claim you need, as a civilian, which you are, is the same for the rest of the civilian population. You are granted certain authority and power, but your rights are the same as the rest of us.

This doesn’t negate the fact you don’t want to be racking a round when presented a lethal firing situation. As a legal CCW carrier, my P365 always had one in the chamber. If your smart you will do the same.

Agreed. I did not argue against that.

I agree, and I whole heartedly agree that Blue Lives matter. But LEO lives are not intrinsically more valuable than mine is to me. So yeah, I carry with 1 in the pipe and 2 spare mags.

I know I am preaching to the choir and all, but I guess my bottom line is this:

REGARDLESS OF YOU CHAMBERING A ROUND OR NOT CHAMBERING A ROUND, YOU TREAT YOUR WEAPON AS IF IT IS LOADED.

So, if you are going to treat the weapon as if it was loaded, why not just go that extra small step and load it?

One small step for man. One giant step for mankind.

TRUTH! But let’s just go past that step and ACTUALLY TRAIN UP. If you train up where EVERYTHING is Muscle memory you negate the FEAR of having one in the pipe as well as being ‘Ready to defend yourself’. The only difference here is FEAR! The ‘I don’t think it’s safe argument is Fear based’ If you Train up you lose that fear, You GAIN CONFEDENCE! and that Muscle Memory keeps that negativity down.
Anyone who is FEARFUL of having a ready to rock firearm maybe should reconsider owning that firearm. And if that is too harsh they should keep the pipe empty but stop trying to attempt @ convincing us that everyone should carry empty. Life is Harsh, Fast and Unexpected these days. You DON’T have to be a LEO to be concerned that Bad Ship happens almost instantly these days and you could just be getting Gas, or walking out of a Public place.
