When Caught Cheating Just "insert citations and quotation marks that were omitted"

Claiming plagiarism is racist, don’t you know.

A congressional staffer shouted “Free Palestine!” on Wednesday at Republican Rep. Max Miller (R-OH), in a hallway on Capitol Hill. Miller, a Marine veteran, is Jewish and pro-Israel.

That’s something. The staffer must have been hauled off to Guantanamo right away. No? … Fired?..

Ecclesiastes 1
8
All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing.
9
What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.
10
Is there anything of which one can say, “Look! This is something new”? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.
11
There is no remembrance of men of old, and even those who are yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow.

Yet, the entire Bible is full of “remembered” men.

I think that is a typo.
Trying not to derail this thread.

Unless this tread is about politics ( which I don’t think it is) I think it is about antisemitism. I am a Jew and antisemitism doesn’t bother me. I am not an emotional person. It is when the words become actions do I want to stop the action. I think Gay wants to do the right thing as @Glenn_A describes in his quote. but then I am not gay,at least by today’s definition.

Cool then, we can stop talking about anti-semitism, nothing to see in this department.

Well, I am an American and anti-americanism bothers me. Unfair admission practices against Asians. Teaching students the opposite of integrity and honesty - by personal example! Promoting segregation. Suppression of dissent. Creating physical danger on campus. Aiding and abetting enemy foreign. Should be enough to kick her out of Harvard.

Academia: The things people will do to get published, or to get tenure… is unreal

That is exactly what is destroying the college that I worked at.
It’s all image over substance, really unfair to the students.

I don’t know where you got that information. I didn’t read that in the article. She was standing up for students rights not doing what the students were doing. If see was doing what you say I agree100%.

It’s NOT a typo, Robert1246, and YOU are the one who opened the Bible topic of Ecclesiastes. In keeping my response within the same Book of the Bible, I demonstrated how you can easily find Bible verses to make your point, most of which are open to interpretation. Most of the wisdom contained in the Bible, both Old and New Testament verses, make it clear that the book in its entirety is a history book. As a Jew, I am sure you are aware one major point overlooked by many Christians is the fact Jesus was a Jew and therefore, except for Judaism, there would be no Christianity!

Information is coming to light that, in scrutinizing her “work”, up to 5 of the 10 have plagiarized passages. So, people. Send your kid to an Ivy League university-“Where MEDIOCRITY is the new standard of EXCELLENCE.”

Also, in my opinion, “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” (DEI) should be altered to “Diversity, Inclusion and Equity” (DIE) - which is what I wish would happen to this (bowel) movement. Admissions should be on merit alone. If you can’t do the work, go to trade school. Sooner or later, all the “elites” will need an electrician, carpenter, plumber, or mechanic. Lord knows, they will not deign to soil their delicate hands to perform manual labor. Just think of how much you can charge these beautiful people when their exotic cars won’t run or their commodes back up on them.

Like Constitutional rights? But Harvard is a private school and it has own code, no?

You are speaking, like Harvard had been formed 3 months ago, and not been marred in race discrimination lawsuits for many years - on her watch.

Your attempt at sarcasm doesn’t cut it; it’s as dull as your wit. You continually find yourself “outgunned” on these posts, Robert1246, because most of the rest of us understand these are TOPICS being discussed and requiring additional research . . . not necessarily individual articles, although some articles beg for criticism on the accuracy of their content or lack of it. And as for Gay being “fair” or even “the best they can find”, if this is a true example of the products being produced by Harvard or any other Ivy League institution, God help us!!

I’ve made that same change in acronym myself on many occasions. Some questioned it until I explained it was intentional! Thanks for the laugh!! And I have an uncle who is a world renowned musician whose humility he often expressed through self-deprecating humor. Any non-serious personal composition he often referred to as “The 5th Movement by Bowell”! Thanks for the memory!
