My ultimate training experience would be a week long CQC with an elite military unit. As much as I’d like to learn from it, just seeing that up close and personal would be great in and of itself.
I think you want training that really makes you work on being able to mentally overcome physiological effects involved in a shooting situation.
Things like
-
Stress of the situation
-
You have to run for cover.
-You get to your cover but now as you focus on your perp…in addition to the stress, your heart is beating fast…and you can see it as you look through your sights. You can see them move with every heartbeat, yet you gotta get shots off and they must count.
-
How many shots did you shoot and should you tac reload?
-
Your perp is moving toward you and you’re shooting
All this type stuff we did in military police training. It’s an eye opener!
