there’d be a better choice of politicians as well. This governing by emotion is getting old. (Watching a NY hissy fit today, rep totally ignoring the illegal immigration part and claiming to speak for all New Yorkers).

Showing your ignorance again. The SAVE Act has nothing to do with showing ID to vote. When a party tries to prevent people from voting it means they can win on their ideas.

I am not sure if you are just incapable of reading comprehension or if you just live in a fantasy land where you just dream things up because you fail to understand everything and create other like-minded people to converse with.

Something that might help you better understand me and where I come from: I am NOT a party person. I am not a sheep like most that believe you must stand behind a party even if you know they are wrong.
I am a constitutionalist. I support limited government, the rule of law, and the protection of individual liberties against arbitrary actions by public officials. The better, smarter version of an individual. Idiots party too much!
Land doesn’t vote, people do. Most of that red area is empty space with very few people.

Maybe you would prefer a map of red versus blue counties.
At least the framers recognized the need for small states (AND/OR corresponding small populations within states) to have a vote system that allowed equal representation for those states. (A republic, as opposed to the democratic “majority rule”.) Brilliant, but the people who oppose the Constitution somehow don’t see it as being representative of a “United States”.
Gerrymandering however, is an abomination.

For the Senate I assume you mean? The original 13 colonies were not as varied in population as states are today (thanks to the 3/5 Compromise) so this was not really a problem that needed to be addressed. But today, we have very large states and very small states with extremely different senate representive power. California and Texas have almost no senate power by population, while Wyoming, Vermont, Alaska, the Dakotas have very high senate power by population. That needs to be fixed too.
Don’t know if the fomatting will come through. But here is a new 50 state plan with equal senate power to show how out of whack it is…
