Trump and Elon Bromance is starting to look like a messy divorce

Are you ignoring the tax revenue generated by a stronger, healthier economy on purpose? More people earning money, thus more people paying taxes. More people earning a meaningful income, more spending, more revenue. It’s a snowball effect. Growth equals more money.

Then there’s also trade. The trade deficit has been decreased under Trump by more than 50%, already! Know what happens when a deficit turns to a surplus? Hint: Surplus is positive.

Either way, I’m done with this.

lets say there’s a 10% tax. That’s 20.4 trillion increase in growth in order to break even. You may think differently but I’m not willing to bet that Trump can do that.

I really don’t care if this country goes bankrupt at this point, it’s ridden the backs of the working class and poor since it’s inception while allowing the wealthy to build so much wealth their great-great-great-great-grandchildren will never know what working actually looks like. What I do want to see are the Epstein Files which will most likely show a certain President diddled kids, Epstein didn’t kill himself, he was murdered while in prison under that President.

This is not true, ask Warren Buffet… You talk about investment for jobs… Look this is simple you want to grow your company you expand your market share…
When Bezos comes to town and decides to build a facility … He does it to make even more money. What happens, he pays no taxes. He simply makes a deal to defer the taxes he would pay … To put it on the new labor force that he needs to gain market share…
You know the people that work for him. They still qualify for food stamps…that we pay for… On top of this the roads have to be widen to handle the volume of trucks, new lights have to be put up … Again Bezo doesn’t pay for this because again he is tax exempt … Your tax dollars go to funding him… So he can make more money ,

The other half of income earners (And all of the multitudes on public assistance) basically skate.

What does that have to do with anything?
But since you asked, the top tax payers pay roughly 500% of my yearly income. Don’t we love to play the percentage game?

I meant what percent of their income they pay. Of course they make a large amount. More money means more money to tax.

Berkshire Hathaway (Warren Buffet) employed 392,400 people in 2024.

Geico and Duracell, two of the companies under the Berkshire Hathaway umbrella employ ~28,500 & ~3,300 people respectively.

Bezos employs ~1.5 million worldwide, of which ~950,000 are in the U.S., just through Amazon.

Seems quite a few people rely on jobs from the wealthiest.

That does not account for the millions who work for companies reliant on the products and services originating from them.

What do YOU think the wealthiest should pay? The wealthiest currently give up $37 for every $100 they make. What is YOUR idea of fair? Half of what they make? 3/4 of what they make?

Or should they be incentivized for stimulating the economy by creating jobs? Should they be encouraged to work harder to make more money, or should they be penalized for wanting to work hard to make money?

That’s the difference between capitalism and communism. One encourages and rewards for hard work, the other encourages everyone to not make waves and give everyone no hope for advancement… everyone is equal.

I dont know. I am only an armchair economist and have not done enough research to give an educated opinion on that. It is better left up to people more versed in the field than myself. I chose to spend my time on other things (like guns!)

There are also all the other ancillary jobs. From the initial real estate, both commercial and personal, transactions, to the designing, building, maintaining, the supply chain companies/employees, on and on.

How many commercial HVAC companies service the Amazon office buildings, warehouses, distribution centers? How many people do those companies employ? How many people are employed by the HVAC equipment suppliers, the shipping companies delivering that equipment. It’s a long line of companies using companies using companies…all with employees.

Not to mention all the “other than” income tax they pay. Imagine the sales taxes incurred by the wealthiest, the property taxes, the real estate taxes, ad valorem taxes, on and on. Every penny of that goes to someone’s bank account via one path or another.
