Trump and Elon Bromance is starting to look like a messy divorce

Honestly I’m surprised that more people are not on this thread. MAGA is imploding and most of the people here are MAGA, seems like it would be more of a big deal than it is.

So far the Big Deal is the success The Donald is having.

With what?

I didn’t vote for Elon Musk and he had no impact on who I voted for or why I voted.

With everything.

…such as the border, illegal immigration more broadly (more work needed here & is ongoing), international trade & including that deficit, inflation to name a few.

I agree that he has closed the border but everything else has been a disaster.
Our international reputation has been ruined, he has made no meaningful impact on inflation (see chart below), and is trying to increase the national debt by 5 trillion (thats the whole reason for the falling out if you remeber. Another major thing that no one talks about is that consevetives were set to win the elections in several countries (Canada and Australia) but when trump started to be a dick to their countries the liberals made a comeback and won the elections. He’s set back our progress globally several years for no good reason! that pisses me off!

I disagree.

The $5T you’re referring to is the debt ceiling. The ceiling is always increased, it has to be. The debt accrues interest which causes the debt to rise. If the ceiling isn’t raised, the debt plus interest will cause the U.S. to default. That is not an option.

This bill does include $1.6T in mandatory spending cuts, the largest ever. Mandatory spending is the spending that we must include, things like defense for example.

The spending cuts that we all want are not included in this bill because they can not be included in this bill. Those cuts, which I REALLY hope do happen, come during the recissions and appropriations processes, both of which occur after.

Not tired of winning! Inflation falls in June for first time since 2020 as consumer price increases continue to slow.

Promises made, promises kept.

Also, my 401ks and IRA’s have me at record highs.

If this is MAGA imploding, I WANT MORE!

JUST IMAGINE where we’d be if Trump’s agenda wasn’t thwarted EVERY SINGLE DAY by those who want America’s greatness to fail.

I hope the positive momentum can continue despite what to me seems like a set back. Great to have influential partners. Heard some really negative things said between the two of them which makes me fear they “not gonna make up”.

Hoping other strong and popular figures can fill this possible loss gap.

Heard one take on it, that Mr. Musk should have spoke up, but deferred to the chief, honoring for chief’s sake, as the county is at stake, one has to sometimes sacrifice for the good of the country. That resonated with me. But then again, I was not there as Mr. Musk was.

Or possibly consider this. Tesla was a darling for the democrats until Elon began working with Trump. Then they started burning his cars and Tesla stock plunged. Now, if him and Trump appear to have a big falling out, possibly Tesla goes back up because democrats are buying his cars again. The democrats have their wish for electric cars and Elon’s net worth goes back up. Win Win.

Glad you’re not taking it at face value. Question everything and come up with rational reasons and outcomes.

We welcome conspiracy theories here!

These days you have to question everything.

I’m going to be honest. I think it’s a very cynical move by Elon to regain lost market share for his businesses that took such big hits while he was doing DOGE. But that’s just me.

Also Elon may not want to throw around allegations about the Epstein list considering his close ties to P Diddy.

Also for @CombatCanine trade deficit is going down :backhand_index_pointing_down:, GDP is going up :index_pointing_up:, economic indicators are all pointing towards increased economic activity. Even CPI is trending favorably. As someone who watches money there’s not a lot to disparage so far.

Your sadly mistaken if you think MAGA is collapsing. The Republicans are not MAGA. Trump can vanish next week and MAGA will still be a force.

MAGA isn’t imploding. And most of the MAGA people here realize it. This is just s small bump in the road in the big scheme of things. If you want to see imploding, look to the left.

After all they regularly accuse others of exactly what they themselves are doing!
