The School Boards are in the Gun Consulting Biz

From our school board. Anyone here already knows that you don’t leave loaded guns where kids can get them until they are ready. Looks like the anti-gun crowd is pushing this crap as they continue to push their narrative forward. From our school board:

Whereas, Evidence strongly suggests that secure firearm storage is an essential component to any effective strategy to keep schools and students safe; and Whereas, An estimated 4.6 million American children live in households with at least one loaded, unlocked firearm; and Whereas, Every year, roughly 360 children under the age of 18 unintentionally shoot themselves or someone else. That’s nearly one unintentional shooting per day, and more than 70 percent of these incidents take place in or around a home; and Whereas, Another 1,300 children and teens die by gun suicide each year, most often using guns belonging to a family member; and Whereas, In 75 percent of active shooter incidents the shooters were current or former students; and Whereas, Research shows that secure firearm storage practices are associated with up to an 85 percent reduction in the risk of self-inflicted and unintentional firearm injuries among children and teens; and Whereas, The U.S. Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center recommends the importance of appropriate storage of firearms because 76 percent of school shooters used firearms acquired from the homes of parents or close relatives; and Whereas, Keeping students, teachers and staff safe from the threat of gun violence should be the responsibility of all adult stakeholders at each of our school; and Whereas Wisconsin requires adults to securely store their firearms where a child may or is likely to gain unauthorized access to a firearm;
Whereas Wisconsin requires adults to securely store their firearms where a child may or is likely to gain unauthorized access to a firearm; Resolved, That the Board directs the Superintendent and staff to update the Student Handbook to include information about the importance of secure gun storage, the legal requirements of parents and guardians to securely store their firearms, and that the best practice for secure gun storage is to keep all guns unloaded, locked up, and separate from Ammunition; and Resolved further, That the Board directs the Superintendent to create an appropriate letter to parents and guardians that explains the importance of secure gun storage in preventing minors from accessing guns, the legal requirements of parents and guardians to securely store their firearms, and that the best practice for secure gun storage is to keep all guns unloaded, locked up, and separate from ammunition, to be included in annual registration materials at each school site, and requiring a signature acknowledging awareness of secure gun storage responsibilities; and, be it finally;
Resolved, That the School Board and Superintendent will continue to work with local agencies to collaborate and increase efforts to inform District parents of their obligations regarding secure storage of firearms in their homes.

Where as, if all Americans were responsibly armed Americans, they would have to send those letters.

Hmmm, 360 deaths per year via firearms?

I wonder how many overdose deaths from drugs purchased at school or on property?

How many murders (alleged) from illegal aliens?

:thinking:

Our Gov just signed a similiar bill. Its basically indoctrination for kids to narc out their parents if they arent following the “safe gun law”

I wish they would pass a law to have parents be parents. Nowadays alot of parents let schools, big gov, etc raise their kids cuz they are lazy, or dont want to be bothered.

Whereas, Wisconsin school board nannies, being appropriately liberalized, shall forever brow-beat all parents within their respective districts, to promote the left-wing agenda regarding anything firearm related.
Whereas, pornography, LBGT grooming and the all important drag queen story hour should continue unabated forevermore! Along with the rights of trannies, being able to show their jewels as they see fit to any female unfortunate enough to be in the place where they are, without any fear of consequence.
ALL HAIL! the school boards!

Painfully this has been present for awhile… In numerous other methods … Are you aware that kids homework assignments and book reports embrace them telling about their home life. They invade your privacy in so many nefarious and subtle ways.

Not long ago my son, in 4th grader at the time, had an assignment to write a page about the wonderful President of the United States, Barry Obama. I helped him with his paper. He turned it in, on time. I got a call to visit the teacher and councilor. The conversation did go like THEY thought it would.

IDK if that is a typo, how did They think it would go?

They “Thought” they would get me in there, sitting in a little kids sized chair and
use their position of authority to convince me that Barry was a sapient deity that I should be teaching my kids to love him. Instead the conversation turned to a heated argument over political indoctrination of small children in the public schools. The teacher was in tears, she couldn’t believe I would come in there and strongly disagree with her assumption that Obama was the best President ever, the principal about 2 minutes into the conversation got it and apologized.
