The Aftermath: A Drive-Away Shooting

This statement is true on so many levels, but none more important than having your kids strapped into car seats.

I have a friend, a young lady, who was fired upon as she entered her sub-division going home after a long day of work. I think I may have posted a story about her on one of the 9mm v .45 arguments. The shooter put 11 .45 rounds into her Jeep. 8 of those rounds perforated the car seats. Had her children been in the seats, they would not have lived. My friend was hit 4 times. She returned fire with her 9mm and dropped the shooter with 2 rounds, then drove herself to the hospital.

Most motor vehicles are not bullet proof, but being motorized vehicles, they do move. A moving target is harder to hit.

As Jon over on ASP says paraphrasing: if you’re not moving and you’re in your car, it’s a coffin.
