What is the consensus of people now that the US Supreme Court has has ruled that the federal firearms ban of Marijuana users was just ruled unanimously been overturned on the grounds that it violates the second amendment to the constitution?

I am not pro-Marijuana after seeing a friend who was the most intelligent person I ever met destroyed when he became a pothead. However, the laws on marijuana are twisted. Several years ago in my state, the dems “legalized” marijuana while leaving the law, a copycat of federal law, that makes firearm ownership and possession of marijuana a felony crime. The mere possession is still a felony crime in my state - only if you are in possession of a firearm.
I vehemently oppose that law, even though I do not agree with people using it based on my secondhand experience. As is oft noted, possession of a firearm and alcohol is not illegal. So unless you are committing a criminal act, whatever you are doing or possessing should not be a crime if you have no intent to commit a criminal act.

Seems to me that 21 states are violating the 2a as it is, so perhaps the SC should start there. The right of the people is not a “may issue” or “shall issue” issue.
When you get down to it, I believe all 50 states violate the 2a, but at least we have 29 states with Constitutional carry, though there’s limitations on what one may carry and where they may carry.

Besides if SCOTUS screws the pooch on the 14th Amendment in favor of Paper Americans as they are expected to, everything we argue about will be moot.

This goes beyond just smoking pot. Constitutional scholars have been discussing this after Bruen. There was no restriction on convicted felons owning weapons when the constitution was signed.
