Here is another. Three people beating on one guy who is down, including swinging heavy win/liquor bottles at his head while he is defenseless cornered on the ground.You even see one of those deadly weapon bottles broken over his head and he is still being beat relentlessly

Joe says say “shoot them in the leg with a shotgun”.
City of Seattle will send a social worker to deescalate the situation.
California says the victim needs to be taxed and jailed for being the victim.
I say, grab the guy with the bottle and gently peaceably help gravity put him onto his back to save the victims life.

Alright. Second level question. One of the other guys swings a model at your head and the third guy is circling around behind you while this is all happening. Then third guy reaches into his waistband.
You feel you are going to be seriously harmed or killed imminently.
What do you do?

I’d asked her why she’s being swung. 
Yes, I would be in immediate danger at that point.
Did I inject myself into the situation? Yes.
Should I standby and let someone be murdered, no!

Will it be justified when you stepped in and attacked the victims of a robbery as they were neutralizing the suspect?
I guess two level questions, will it be justified legally that you acted in self defense after attacking the victims of a robbery…and if you end up shooting/killing one of them (they think you are partner to the robber) will you be good to live with that decision and action?

The lone robber, that was left, was no longer a threat. Beating him with a bottle made the guy in the yellow the aggressor at that point.

In that case, if you die after intervening, is that a decision that you family will be good with?
These questions are genera/rhetorical. It’s VERY difficult to KNOW definitively what the situation is when you encounter a third party event, and you have to be okay with dying or going to prison based on what reality turns out to be when hindsight reveals all

I will say this, If I came upon a situation where the ‘Attacker’s’ were mercilessly
whaling away/stomping on somebody (especially a fellow Gummer) and laughing and
carrying on like they have a Piñata and a stick I CAN’T NOT do something.
I would call 911 dispatch but not wait the (1.5 hours) for them to show. Leave my phone open for the Trace.
The dude on the ground doesn’t have minutes to wait for help much less any Police response time.
Pulling my firearm ‘may’ stop the assault or it may embolden them to turn on me!
Blood is in the water though folk’s, These ‘Sharks’ are in a frenzy! It’s literally a feeding frenzy!
Just know you may be the next possible victim. You MAy be the Vic’s savior but you are next on their hit parade! IF you get involved you better be prepared to SHOOT (1) or ALL!
