Absolutely, maybe 2 laws!?
Interesting article, it sounds like his lawyer really likes him,
Don’t see anywhere in either article that the guy worked for an agency.
Probably “a friend” of the liquor store owner
Lawyer has to present a legal defense theory. Apparently the judge won’t buy this one.
Good point. Or, the reporter didn’t dig enough.
Read the headline. It already makes the shooter the bad guy!
Security guard who shot man 3 times acted in self defense because the victim wasn’t wearing a COVID mask, lawyer says
I agree with everything you have stated. This is why I am concerned about constitutional carry. You can never tell how much training people have. With a permit you know that person has been trained in how to determine when a weapon can be used.
Can’t argue with that as far as the state in which the CCW is issued. There is so much more that the responsible gun owner needs to know the CCW class is of varying value. IMO
Hi George98
I taught the concealed handgun course in Texas for ten years. My training covered a lot of information as to when, where and why. This was passed on to all of my students. Would you prefer no training or some training? I was a police officer and included not only the information contained from my concealed handgun course but from the Texas State laws.
I’m sorry if you misinterpret what I said. The CCW course is a drop in the bucket. Not a bad drop but only a drop.
I surmise (possibly incorrectly) that most State CCW required classes last 16 hours or less and other than a range qualification (if any) have no final exam.
I will wait to be contradicted and educated!
Constitutional carry might bring back NRA type training in schools!
8 hour class (NRA Basic Pistol if I remember correctly), 38 or so rounds fired for the test. I found additional training before I was comfortable carrying. They do go over a little of the legal part of carrying, but can only do so much in one class.
I get to go spend Saturday taking the class to renew my Louisiana permit. I just can’t wait.

Hi George
I agree with you. I do feel that the state should provide free online trading. This would provide protection for the person and people around him. I know this will be a balancing ac.
Some people are pretty dumb.
As a retired Detective I can say that I learned many of the little games that defense attorneys sometimes play. The “good guy” ones anyway. And yes there are some of those.
This attorney laid out his entire defense “cards” for the prosecutor. End result will be a plea, OR the prosecutor will destroy this defense. Either way, the defendant who is a total scum bag will be convicted.
It’s so easy to become a Felon.
