^^ this is pretty much my stand on it too. I don’t need the government to be my parent, and I don’t want them to try. I’m an independent, responsible adult and I need to act like it. And I need to act like it not just on my own behalf, but for my great grandchildren (the grandchildren are already their own independent, responsible adults).
