Rock Island Armory

By law, we must wear tactical shirts only when carrying ammo.

I’ve got three 10mm RIA double stacks and love them all. I’ve put a bunch of ammo thru them all and find they are as reliable as any other as long as you don’t have panty wrists.

I do trust it as a range gun, training gun or demo gun.
But my life depends on Staccato or Wilson Combat only.

It is not about the quality or price differences, but small details matter. Nicer trigger pull, crisper break, shorter reset and the most important for me - perfect weight balance.
I feel better, more comfortably and I shoot faster and more accurately with Staccato and WC.

But not everyone can or wants to spend thousands on a firearm, you can’t touch a STACCATO for under 2K and you can only get a 9mm .

It’s subjective. One spends $2k for a single handgun, another is cheap and buys 5 handguns for $500 each… so… sometimes wants is not the same as can.

Yo can also think about this… why a lot of Agencies switched from cheap Glock to expensive Staccato? Definitely money is not a reason for that change…
I personally like to use for self defense the tools that has been confirmed as the best, reliable, no matter what the cost is. My life has no dollar equivalent.

9mm is also not an issue. Nothing more powerful is needed to have the job done well. Again… why the whole World is using 9 mm these days?

eh, too much FUDD in bill wilson for me, he still preaches a lot of bad information. I carry a glock because its been proven by every police department in the entire country and a lot of the world to arguably be the most reliable pistol on the planet. I like 1911s and 2011s both, but there is no doubt in my mind that the 48 will work every single time. The US Marshals service and quite a few others have outright banned Stacattos as duty weapons and a lot of PDs are ditching them, because they are not series 80 guns, they are not drop safe.

a lot of PDs have tried to switch back because of glocks lack of an externally required manipulated safety. External safeties have been shown to drasticly decrease the officers chance of being shot with his own weapon if it is taken away from them. Why didnt we just spend the money on teaching our officers EDC combatives and weapon retention?

I know several security companies that are requiring their people to go back to Baretta 92s, because of both of these factors.

I have the .45 and also there .22 TCM and love them both, I carry the .45 in the winter both are just all around great to shoot

Any extraction issues with yours in .22TCM?

My buddies would start failing to extract on about the fourth round…. And by the 6th-7th you needed a jam rod from the front to get it clear!

Was not impressed for sure,….

No I haven’t had any problems with my TCM have put over a thousand rounds through mine and haven’t had any issues. Even though I put couple hundred rounds through it then clean it really good next time I shoot it I do the same thing but no issues.

I carry a Glock as well and agree that they are very reliable and know that my 19 and 19 X are both gonna go bang and on target I also have other firearms that I like to carry and at present carry a Taurus 605 .357 mag and I know it’s reliable as well.

I don’t understand that myself, I own Glocks, Springfield Armory, Canik, and all of these are inexpensive ( well one of my Canik s was a little pricey but that’s because of a few extras) and all are reliable and all 9 mm except my Springfield Armory in 10 mm a handful, but shoots really well

Add values of those handguns, plus all accessories, third party extras / replacement and you may find your cost higher than my Staccato.
Simple math. As I mentioned. Price doesn’t matter. If Glocks worked for me, I would have been carrying one of them… but they didn’t. I tested almost every manufacturer available on US market and owned multiple handguns within 2 years to find the one that really worked the way I wanted. I’m the guy who never adjust myself to the firearm. The firearm and the gear have to work for me. This is only one direction this relationship works.
It’s easy to understand if you really care about your life.

There are millions of people carrying Glocks, SAs, Caniks and any other handguns… as long as these work for them, nothing to discuss. One might be better than another, the same as people…
Everything is about perspectives and how we see things around us. Priority over costs.

Point well taken, I also like revolvers and even though you don’t have the capacity of the semi autos there reliable and I always keep my gear and guns that work for me and most of the time keep a semi auto close at hand to each his/her own but stay ready and keep safe.

It’s probably a blue city or state, and is happy spending the taxpayer’s money.

I love my RIA /Armscore 1911, I’ve got some cool grips and it came with a 8 rd mag and the 7 rd one to I think. I bought that thing at Rural King believe it or not, had to give ā€˜em half the money one week and the rest the next week and I told the guy that’s the only way I could get it right now. But I think the last gun I bought was a RIA double barrel 12 gauge, man what a nice looking gun, haven’t shot it yet but hope I can ever get well enuf to.

IMHO rockisland/armscore make reasonable pistols n such at a good price

I paid under 450 for mine. For the price it’s definitely worth having. I’m still searching for a more premium 2011 type at a reasonable price but this one is very good. I may upgrade the trigger and reduce the trigger weight but overall it’s a smooth shooter.
