RDO and front sight removal... Berretta

Got a Berretta apx a1 with a burris fast fire 3 on it. Ordered some suppressor sights so hopefully they will co-witness with the rdo. I cant press out the front sight woth the reel avid press. Berretta doesnt fit. Any ideas? They are fit in hard. I bent one punch going old school.

I pressed in the rear sight and its still not tall off enough since FF3 is so tall. Getting my ass kicked all the way around on this one.

Ordered a vortex viper since its supposed to be a lower profile. Cant hurt plus its only $100 through optic planet right now.
Its supposedly uses the mount plate as the FF3, im sure it wont.

Anyone use the viper?

I have used sights that co-witness and those that are 1/3 witness. My eyes kept trying to line up the BUIS even with the MRDS instead of just choosing the MRDS. I found running 1/3 is still very much visible when the dot is off.

Did you push the front sight out right to left?

I have used it, good sight, no issues.
I currently have the Defender CCW on my P322, no issues either.

As your aiming the gun, right to left.

Problem with the press is that the Berretta is to wide. Lower part of the slide where the guide rod and spring sit doesnt fit in the groove and sit flat on the bed of the press.

Hate to buy another press or pay someone to knock out the original front sight.

As for the RDO, whatever one i dont use on the Berretta, ill throw the other on my sig M17

This may sound a bit weird, but I have used it many times when getting press fit cylinders out of small nitro motors. I also used it when I put a new front sight on my P365 and was having a struggle getting the old sight out. Take just the slide and clean it really well, put it in the oven at 200 to 225 degrees for 20 minutes to 1/2 hour. Have your vice all set up, use a cooking glove to take the slide out put it in the vice and use a brass punch to work it out. This worked on my tight P365 sight. It may have just been ready to come out, but it started sliding fairly easily after heating. Also make sure you are not using rubber between your slide and vice, and make sure the sight is in the center of the vice not hanging out of the end.

May have to try the heat this week or next weekend. Got hockey tournament tomorrow.

I should find another pusher thats cheap but easy to use. The reel avid is nice but really sucks to use when shooting for minor adjustments.

Hey sir, you might also try putting some good penatrating oil on the sight. Let it soak in overnight. I did this for my Sig pistols front sights. Good luck sir

Broke down and ordered a $40 sight pusher off of Amazon.

Kinda cheesy and hard to work with but it worked.
