Would really appreciate information from someone who has completed the qualification levels one two and three. What exactly does it qualify you for? Are there fees? How do I get started? How long are each one?
First, the level that you can attain depends on your level of membership with USCCA. Levels 1 & 2 consist of classroom and live fire. Level 3 requires a live fire six-hour class taught by a USCCA certified instructor. The live fire includes both speed and precision drills that are timed. In terms of fees, it would depend on the instructor and range. If it’s a student of mine I only charge the range fee. If it’s not a student of mine, then I charge $75.00. There is no charge from USCCA. Once you complete a level you then just add it to your Protector Academy account and USCCA will send you a patch corresponding to the level achieved. You should be able to go to your Protector Academy account to view the requirements for each level.
Craig AR. Thank you for your reply about Arkansas renewal CCW requirements. Actually I find no fault with the instructor. He must have been bored out of his mind. It’s a silly requirement. A CCW Holder would have had to demonstrate firearm safety to obtain a CCW in the first place. Then have to do it again 5 years later? A person could demonstrate firearm safety in the front room with an unloaded weapon. There’s no reason to go to all that trouble, getting ready and going out, setting up a Target and firing in the general direction. It’s an unnecessary burden to the instructors instructors as well as the CCW holders.
