Preper's - Do you train with your Prep Equipment

OK, I give, out with the bug out bag, out with the fire arms, no need for water or food. I’ll just sit here and wait for you and your neighbors to come and get me.

I have heard of people staging their survival SHTF gear at a location. Also stashing stuff on the route to their new location. That way you can go light, fast and with purpose.
This will allow you to retrieve your goods as you go and have it already for you when you get there.
You just have to carry the essentials needed to get there as well as pick up stuff on the way like extra ammo, water, food.

Your final destination should have good cover from the air and good visual of the area around you. The greater distance of view the better! Access to fresh water is also vital.

Some caches are simple affairs such as a cheaper single barrel shotgun some ammo, some medical, water purification, canteen, SOS/DATREX type Coastguard rations, knife, map, compass, socks, jacket, hat, lighter, etc. - simple stuff. Maybe something for bartering
all buried in water proof container. Of course picking up ‘cheaper’ single barrel shotguns now days is an issue depending on ones location.

I figured eventually you’d talk yourself into reasonableness. lol. And I agree with your final assessment, wholeheartedly! All of the other fulfuffery was just stuff that had to be worked out while enroute to soundness. Believe me or not, before my frontal lobe was fully developed, I was prone to allow like thinking to meander through the corridors of my mind too! Good on you. Kudos!

Interesting. Feigning indifference and projecting. I never said give up any firearms. I never said you shouldn’t have supplies or a plan. I simply pointed out what a poor choice resting your survival on a “bug out bag” would be. Movement exposes you to unnecessary risks and should only be done if the risk of staying was greater than leaving. So your “plan” to voluntarily move with only what you have on your person is simply increasing your risk. Whether it’s a risk of injury, death, or whatever…it’s riskier than planning a strategy that reduces risk rather than invites more.

If you want to make a smarter choice, then make plans that reduce risk rather than invite more of it. If you have to move, do so with others and all the resources your vehicle can carry as opposed to some laughably small bug out bag. This machismo centered around a bug out bag is naïve and short sighted.
