Went to my local this morning, in fmj they had about a 75 boxes of every caliber in pistol… no 556😢

I was at Field and Stream this afternoon and got some Sinter Fire special duty self defense ammunition. 100 grain HP bullets. $15.99 a box of 20.

They also had the same brand box of 50 but FMJ target ammo $34.99 a box, ridiculous price. They still had a 2 box limit on all ammo at Field and Stream.

Lucky Gunner has a few different types of hollow points. Not cheap, but avialable. I have bought from them before. Pretty fast shipping.

Also, SG Ammo has even more choices of hollow points, but also has some FMJ practice ammi as well. This post and my last is for 9mm rounds. Again, not real cheap.

It’s encouraging to see ball and HP coming available at more places. Maybe that will mean that prices may start coming down again in the not so distant future.
On a side note: I had an ammo box that wasn’t labelled, so I thought it was empty. When I picked it up, it was heavy…700 rounds of 9mm heavy! Great! I have 700 more rounds than I thought! Still not enough to be really comfortable but not a panic situation either.

You sound like me. lol. I havent been to the range in over a month. Sitting on my stash as well. Practicing my draws and time to target. Im also thinking about getting a Sirt gun and training course from USCCA. Biggest obstacle there is how to convince my Financial Approval Department (AKA my wife) to approve the purchase

Just scored a few more boxes. If any of you have a Sportsmans Warehouse in town I would highly suggest giving them a try. They have been the most reliable so far in terms of ammo. I call every few days and generally about once a week they have some. you have to get there quick tho because it is generally gone by around 1 pm or so.
Today I got 2 - 5O count boxes of Blazer 9mm ball for $15.99 each and 2 - 20 count boxes of American Eagle 5.56 GREEN TIPS for $10.99 each! They have a 2 box limit per caliber or I would have picked up more.
I think I am good for now with my ammo storage. Im at what i would call a minimum level given the current political and covid situation. OH I almost forgot, for those of you who havent noticed, there is another toilet paper run in progress! the Costco’s here in Phoenix and other local stores are running dry over the last few days. Just a “heads” up!

Dont feel bad. This is just normal for any controversial Presidential election. The months before Obama was elected it was the same. It will correct itself in 2 or 3 years. There really is no “shortage”. Makers are working overtime. It is just a matter od demand. And demand drives prices. I mentioned in another post, I should sell what I have at todays prices and pay off a few debits. Ammo is always a good barter item to keep on hand should things get really nasty… but I dont think it will. I suspect over time things will get somewhat back to normal.
