Usually plant both onions and garlic. Nematodes can be a problem with garlic. Once they get into the soil, garlic can’t be planted in the same spot for something like 7 years. I try to move mine every year to help with this, but still get some kind of worm or larvae that affect random bulbs. Who knew anything, other than humans, could stomach garlic. But, something also eats into my habaneros…don’t want to tangle with whatever’s doing that
