I had.an old ‘75 Duster that hates the cold. We had to make room for it in the garage, and plug in a dipstick heater so I could drive to college (it was only 9 years old at the time)

Been there, done that!
Also pushing the car in neutral, getting it going fast as I can, then jumping in, pressing the clutch, putting it in 2nd and popping the clutch. Who needs a starter motor?

I bought my first house in my 30’s. My first brand new car, my late 20’s and that was only for my wife. The expectation that you are going to come straight out of college with a non STEM degree and buy a new car/House etc.
It just makes me shake my head.

This meme is more the result of poor thinking. America once helped the Taliban, but that’s about it. ISIS is a late result of the Sykes-Picot Agreement, but couldn’t exist without psychotic Islamists. If you want to assign global blame for Islamo-terror, start with Wahhabism.
I’d always park my old F-100 with the nose pointed downhill (if possible) just on case the battery didn’t have the oomph to turn over the straight 6.
