Here’s a true story about rotary phones. I have 2 daughters, for whom I shared custody with their mom when they were growing up. One time my now wife and I had put one of her antique phones in the living room. The next weekend when the girls came over, they came in and immediately spotted the strange black object on the side table. My oldest, who was about 12 at the time, ran over, leaned over it with her hands held around it but not touching it, and said “wait! I know what this is! I’ve seen them in movies”
