We’ll excuse Little Johnny’s ignorance on the unlimited plan, as he’s never been married.
I have an old boat that won’t seem to leave me. Over the years there have been a ton of thing that have been normal carry on the boat, and things I’ve dumped to lighten the load. One thing that seems to remain constant in the galley is rum. I think that going to sea without sufficient rum will probably piss off Posiden, and no skipper EVER wants to piss off Posiden.
@Shawn17 I have been aboard that ship. My son was commissioned into the Navy on board in Boston. I thought I smelled some rum but now I can be sure I did. ![]()

IIRC one of the things that got men to enlist was the promise of a daily grog ration…
fact of the matter when I enlisted 1966 it was still on the books of the Marine Corps as a valid rule???
not sure if they removed that or not since then…
also you could drink on duty!!! and as long as you could preform your duty nothing was said!!!
and NO CHARGES could be filed against you!!!
