Yep. Enlisted at the outset in 1939. Unfortunately taken prisoner by the Germans on the island of Crete in 1941 and was a POW in Germany until 1945. He was treated badly which aged him a lot. Before he enlisted he was a heavyweight boxer, so he didn’t take crap from the guards.
