African Rainbow Lizards and Iguanas have invaded where I live in Florida. The Florida Wildlife Commision (FWC) encourages homeowners to humanely kill them. We have a number of them that have taken up residence in our front yard - our dog keeps them at bay in the back yard ![]()
I talked to a local Policeman over the weekend about shooting them with a BB gun. He immediately told me the FWC position and said there is absolutely nothing wrong/illegal about shooting a BB gun in my neighborhood because it is not a firearm. He reminded me to be sure of what’s behind my target as I will be responsible for windows, cars, etc. that get hit either directly or by ricochet. Due to that risk, I might consider an air-soft instead.
He also warned me to not be surprised if the Police show up because somebody dialed 911 to report a guy with a gun
He said after a while we will know its you, but we have to respond to every call just in case.
Edit: I forgot to mention my BB gun is a Government size 1911
I believe that is also the difference between non-GMO and GMO. ![]()
