It being in poor taste has nothing to do with this thread. If I mocked the death of someone you knew, would you not believe that would be in poor taste? As the left loved to say during the Great Purge when those on the right were being deplatformed, banned, etc., for telling the truth, we were told free speech is not without consequences.
Posting what you did, did not get you banned, deplatformed, or even having the post removed. You got the reaction you expected, no more, no less.
