Good memory. Yes & no, though. She was lieutenant governor under Cuomo and became gov in ‘21 when he resigned. She was then elected to the governorship in ‘22.

While I understand and support the idea of “Buy American”, for those of us with limited money to spend on clothing those prices aren’t necessarily reasonable. When Rural King sells their house brand of carpenter jeans for $12.00, $80 doesn’t sound so good. I literally spend less than $200 per YEAR on store-bought clothing–I can’t blow 40% of that on one pair of jeans. That’s why I make my own shirts, and as soon as I work out a good pattern I’ll make my own jeans, too. I have patterns in the works for an fall/winter vest and a nice woolen winter coat.

Quality matters and usually costs more. Example: I buy Red Wing shoes and they last me a long time, my last pair lasted me for four years. Many imported goods can be good but let the buyer beware.
