My farther says that about the L.A. he grew up in during the mid 30s through the 50s. Very disappointing and like living in an entirely different dimension. I remember playing with plastic guns and my parents buying me a plastic SWAT rifle that was the rage in the mid 70s because of a SWAT TV series. Commercials advertised it a lot. That would never be allowed today. I even remember how different it was in the 70s and early 80s when we would venture into downtown L.A.
