‘The Sun rises in the East and sets in the West’ —- Me thinks I just justified another firearm purchase!![]()
Y=X+1, so if you have Y number of guns then you have X number of guns and the need of one more.

Y then becomes X, and requires correction to return to Y, and the cycle continues………..

WHAT? Muahahahaha!![]()

That’s a great firearm purchase cycle theory….. ![]()

I think a revolver is a decent carry option. I think there is merit to the slide not going out of battery if pressed up against an assailant.
There may be merit to the not having to tap rack with a malfunction. I train the tap rack, BUT I’ve never had to tap good quality carry ammo. I also function test carry guns, and I maintain them. revolvers can have malfunctions too, and if a revolver has a malfunction, it’s not “tap rack, your back in” it’s typically timing issue and you have a paper weight.
I think as conceal carry guys we want to be prepared. We’re prepared for the unlikely possibility that’s someone is going to threaten our lives and the lives of our loved ones and we want the ability to protect. But the reality is, any gun, striker fired, hammer fired, cylinder, magazine fed doesn’t matter, they can have catastrophic failures. Test your gun and your carry ammo. Maintain the gun, occasionally cycle the ammo. Doesn’t matter revolver or striker fired. Carry a wheel gun if you like. Hopefully we never have to use our firearms in self defense. The likely hood of self defense situation is low… the likelihood of catastrophic failure of a firearm during a self defense encounter is low. If we have a self defense encounter and experience a catastrophic malfunction, maybe God’s just calling that day. We can only be so prepared.
NOW THEN pros of striker fired gun, more ammo, easy to maintain, very reliable (I don’t buy revolvers are more reliable than striker fired guns), thinner and easier to carry, easier to shoot more accurately due to grip, reciprocating slide and sight options. Easier to reload, generally more affordable.
Video uses law enforcement encounters as a baseline for self defense shootings, cops don’t carry revolvers anymore, they carry striker fired guns.
End of the day, I think a revolver will get the job done, but I’d rather have double the ammo in an easier to shoot package with a dot on it. Also Striker fired guns should be shot from a retention position if you are in an extremely close encounter. Don’t push it into assailant. Create distance and shoot with gun pinned to your hip.
After today I switched to salt packets from Arby’s and water from my neighbors garden hose. ![]()
In an old b & w video featuring Bill Jordan, his preference for DA revolvers was based on misfires - with a pistol, a misfire forced you to re-rack it, losing precious time - with a DA revolver, all you had to do was pull the trigger again. - FYI
Tap, Rack, Reassess… it’s so easy, isn’t it? ![]()
Does 25 feet self defense distance still apply? ![]()
kill zone radius of 5 m (16 ft), while the casualty-inducing radius is approximately 15 m (49 ft).
It works well for clearing rooms.
seem to recall something about a person within 21 feet can kill you real fast with a knife???
Those both look painful.
His knife IS dangerous, but pay particular attention to Occam’s razor…
HOW did these HAPPEN???
