Is a revolver better than a semi-auto for self defense

My used car salesman said that the Kel Tec was top of the line. Best gun ever made!

This is exactly why I sometimes carry a revolver. The arthritis in my hands sometimes makes racking a slide difficult. I can easily shoot my revolvers even when my hands are stiff and sore.

The only other solutions I have seen were 2 shot Derringers (which I always considered a novelty pistol) or maybe some sort of large caliber SBR (which is difficult to conceal.)

That’s what she said.:kissing_face_with_smiling_eyes:

An infringement on my 2nd Amendment freedoms, for sure.

  1. Revolvers don’t eject casings, so they don’t jam if the casing doesn’t eject right.
  2. Revolvers don’t misfeed rounds from a magazine, since they don’t have one.
  3. Revolvers only shoot 6 (or so) rounds at a time, but reliably.
  4. I think I just justified another firearms purchase!

And do not have any issues besides possible cylinder timing

 Just make sure you have a timing gun and make sure the cylinder on the revolver is always at “TOP DEAD CENTER”   I’m a weapons mechanic!

I wouldn’t “dwell” on it if I were you.

The reason I don’t like revolvers for self defense is how complicated is to decide which one to use.

These are the options offered.. and I cannot decide.

  1. Varying numbers of cylinders (1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12+)
  2. Depending on the gun cylinder amount offers a balance of power and efficiency.
  3. More cylinders generally mean smoother operation and more power but also higher cost of use.
  4. Common layouts include inline (straight), V-shape, or flat (boxer).

So
how come I should know which one to choose? There is no such problem choosing a proper semi auto
there are thousands of them, but all are the same. :face_with_tongue:
