Get some black rifle coffee and if the rifle talks to her… ask if it is telling her to clean it…

A little coffee for her and you… a little Breakfree for the ā€˜evil black rifle’

I put down number would matter. If it’s 2 or 1 I feel ok with a handgun. 3-4 Shotgun most likely. Anything more then I think it’s AR-15 time.

@Zavier_D I have an AR-47! I left my AR-14 in the gun cabinet incubator with my AK-47 and it had a baby. If Two Blast Creepy Uncle Joe can do it so can I.

I really wonder about Mr. Biden now. Here in the South we like to call it nuttier than squirrel @#$&.

How would y’all store a long gun in a quick access way? Beauty of a pistol is it’s on a quick access safe on my nightstand. A rifle would be superior, but I how would you get that rifle just as fast while also keeping the rifle out of little hands when not needed?

@Scoutbob biometric wall safes are an option. Hornady makes a few that just cover the majority of the firearm.

Takes me maybe 5 additional seconds, most of which is wife telling me what video says. Between my dogs, and technology I can get going pretty fast.

I have a staged handgun on my night stand and an AR-15 under the bed (also staged). The disadvantage of the AR is the length. It’s difficult to take corners with it (I practice a couple times a week). Plus my home is every long with a lengthy hallway right out of our bedroom. Frankly, I’d choose the AR because I kinda suck at hitting a target with a pistol. My AR is on point though. Besides that, the AR is loud. Very loud. And likely will scare the excrement out of anyone up to no good. As far as ammo, my pistol has three hollow point rounds to send down first. If that doesn’t work there’s nine fmj coming next. My AR is fmj 55 grain .223.

Thank you for your information, sir. Big training possible is to get family to safe location and I know you’re the best

doing that. The training with firearms do your best at it and the training will come through with a clear mind.

Thank you

I would recommend looking into hollow point ammo for your handgun and expanding ammo for your AR15. You would see a lot less over-penetration with those type of rounds.

With a long hallway, a shotgun might be a good option. They are loud, and while you still need to aim, it is less critical, and a pump shotgun has a distinct sound, that after one shot, and working the action… you might hear an intruder fleeing.

A shotgun may also help avoid penetration of walls.

Just an idea to consider.

I do have a 12 gauge. The only reason I chose the AR over it is maneuverability. Our defensive plan has the family behind me and to the opposite side. So any bullets coming my way have a much larger chance of hitting me instead of the family and all my rounds are going opposite the family. A shotgun definitely has a distinct and terrifying sound. The margin for error isn’t that bad either. There’s just a prt of me that thinks ā€œwhat if I need more firepower?ā€ It’s a lot to consider and really just depends on the circumstances. Unfortunately, we don’t always have time to think when the stuff hits the fan.

Taurus 24/7 in .40 auto next to me or on my hip and an AR 15 with 5 full mags within 5 feet. The wife has a 22 magnum and 20 gauge at the ready. I just pray this doesn’t get to the point we need any of the above and people can see this for what it is. Even if this does pose a real and imminent threat to everyone’s health and safety, we should try to stand together as a people instead of turning on and trying to rob and steal.

Since, this all started. I will admit, it’s got me nervous. I’ve changed my security protocols somewhat. My wife doesn’t answer the door now. I do.

I’m carrying heavier than usual.
