EDC revolver

It depends on the cut of the pocket and the holster.
A Bianchi 152 has a thumb tab thats pressed to clear the trigger from the leather.

While far from ideal it’s not impossible, but it is fast.

It shoots so so good!

I see you replaced the sights, bobbed the hammer and removed the lock. What else did you have done? You started with what is probably one of the finest modern revolvers you can buy, a Performance Center K frame. I’m interested in what can be improved.

Wow! So what’s the trigger like? Did you put a guage on it to see how many pounds? I hope you don’t ever need to use that beauty in self defense. A cop will “impound” it for evidence and youll never see it again. Hopefully, if ship goes bad, just the sight of those six magnum chambers will send the bad guys running!

The other 85%? Sprayin and prayin. Maybe they did not hit anything/anyone important.

Thanks, I was wondering the caliber. I see it’s .357. I used to have a 32 HR caliber by Charter Arms which looked a lot like your beauty. Kudos to you for becoming accurate with yours; that’s dedication.

After finally getting “permission” from the government to have a firearm, I purchased a .357 S&W J-frame 5-shot M360… I considered a semi-auto but had difficulty with the slide (I’m REALLY getting on in years) and was concerned that malfunctions, etc. made a revolver a better choice for me. However, getting .38 special ammo for target practice and even .357 for EDC was extremely difficult in my neck of the woods; make that nearly impossible. So I researched the topic and found a 7-shot 9mm S&W M986 that was loaded with moon clips. May not be the solution for anyone else but it’s made things easier for me.

Nice piece. That is exactly why we say get the firearm the works the best for you. Sounds to me like you did just that.

Well, if we’re posting pictures, here’s the little setup that goes in my right front pocket as soon as I get dressed in the morning. It fits in just about any pants pocket and disappears in there for great concealment. It’s so unobtrusive it allows me to be armed all the time, every place (unless prohibited by law). If I’m sitting watching TV in the living room at midnight and some criminal attempts to break in, I only need to reach in my pocket to have a fighting chance. No need to run around for a staged gun. Sometimes I put a semiauto on my belt for higher capacity and speed, but the revolver is still in my pocket.

I’m more of a pistol guy but do own a revolver. I think 9mm is a nice sweet spot between .38 and .357 with a lot more practice and high quality self defense ammo options at noticeably cheaper prices.

I ended up finding some nice mid power SD hollow points for my .357. They have good ballistics and gel test results and allow me to make faster follow up shots than full power .357 loads. But they really aren’t much better than good 9mm ammo as far as the test results go. Plus they cost a lot more and I haven’t seen them in stock anywhere for the past 2 years so I am down to my last two boxes with no way to restock:(

So sounds like a solid choice to me based on your needs. Enjoy the new hardware!

Thanks. Of interest, this Performance Center model (M986) had some problems right out of the box: the mainspring needed to be tightened at the factory after 25% of the rounds did not go bang (I almost lost out on my CCW qualification since I came close to running out of ammo), the ejector rod was out of kilter and the rear sight has to be adjusted to the extreme right to permit accurate shooting. BUT: the trigger is very smooth for a DA and doesn’t require the same kind of force as my .357 5-round M360. I really like the 7-round moon clips. BTW, if anyone needs work on their revolver, a terrific source is [email protected] where I purchased their moon clip loader and spent shell tool which makes loading and removing spent casings from the moon clips a breeze.
