Then there is zero reason for our States to remain a part of the Union. Our States agreed to the Constitution when they became members. If the Constitution is not being upheld we have the right to leave the Union. As an Oregonian who watched Ammon Bundy take over a Federal Wildlife Sanctuary I thought that guy with his pocket Constitution was screwed. That he was going to go away for life in a Federal Prison and never be seen again. But you know what? He was right and I was wrong and then I understood the power of the Constitution, the smallest of men can beat the Federal Government every time if the Federal Government recognizes the Constitution and can accept they overstepped their rights given to them by the Constitution. When the Federal Government refuses to follow the Constitution then we have problems. Give people their due process, this is the United States not some Banana Republic.

The law has been challenged time and again. I wonder why it has lasted for centuries. Must be because desperate times call for desperate measures. In the case of an invasion (or EVEN perceived invasion) for example, careful deliberation, (due process) simply will not be expedient enough to address the emergency.
Japanese Americans got the short end of the stick, but given the circumstances, I think it could have been handled far worse, like assuming they were all enemies of the United States, and shooting them all.

Actually the Jews sent to Polish prisons were absolutely criminals believe it or not Germany made sure everything they did was spot on legal. Today we can look back and say that was messed up, but the Germans were following the law.
So it was wrong in the 1942 but ok in 2025? The whole creation of the act was for xenophobic reasons and every time it has been used historically nobody later has said well that was a good thing. Just going to say I won’t be surprised if Trump Gold Card members end up in an El Salvadorian death camp, sorry I mean relocation camp when the next President declares they are national threats because they purchased their citizenship.
