Three of my coworkers today (9/16/25) passed around a meme about the shooting of Charlie Kirk, that showed a tombstone with the caption of give him a second he is trying to clear his throat. when they tried to show me I said that was wrong and not funny, they proceeded to tell me that it was funny. I again said no it was not and that no one should be killed for their beliefs like that, and did not do anything to deserve to be treated like that. One of my coworkers we will call her Tina (not her real name), Tina then proceeded to try and convince me that it was funny, she then asked me when I would not back down from my position, “Do you feel bad and that Osama Binladin was killed and or should not have been killed.” Honestly I did not really know how to answer that because comparing the two men in my mind dose not work. Binladin was responsible for many atrocity’s as for Charlie he was killed for his belief’s and to my knowledge did not ever hurt or kill anyone. I do not make fun of or laugh at the death of Binladin but I do feel like the world is safer with out him in it. Am I wrong for thinking this and thinking that they are wrong for what they did?
No, the two are in no way, shape or form comparable. Your coworkers who thought this was a good joke are garbage.
No. Some people only look for the bad in people. I would tell them I was an optimistic and look for the good. I think Charlie was like that.
The left simply don’t know how to argue.
Their crooked view of the world makes them look at Bin Laden as some kind of nonviolent person similar to Charlie Kirk.
It started when they believed “words are violence.”
Personally, I’d be reviewing company policy and talking to HR about it.
How would they feel about memes over the death of JFK, MLK, Malcolm X, etc? How would your company respond if you mocked the death of one of those people? They should respond exactly the same way to this.
Your thinking is not wrong sir. You are a far better person than they, and made it perfectly clear to them.
Do not trouble yourself over this; your co-worker presented a nonsensical argument. Not surprising, coming from a (presumably) younger person who has never been taught to think critically through reason and logic. They have been taught (deliberately?) to rationalize at only the most superficial level and to never accept any conclusion -even their own- which doesn’t comport with the established “group think” hammered into them. A sad state of affairs that will plague society for decades to come.
First to Robert, Fear not you spoke your mind and it was a sound and just belief. Comparing Usama to Charlie is like comparing a Banana to a dump truck (ridiculous). Welcome back friend. And please don’t trouble yourself any further you have your head on straight (a rare occurrence these days indeed).
David, You nailed it also (all the posts were excellent in this Topic actually). I feel (with some sorrow) even when we straighten out this current sh!tshow there will be a long period of time before we truly unphuck this country and some of these folk’s prolly through Life’s ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENTS will realize their thinking is not the way most reasonable folk’s feel. Young people eventually grow old and if they are not shot, beat up or disabled by someone who has a problem with they’re STRONG Whacked beliefs will understand just how badly they’ve been lied to and INDOCTRINATED. Many young adults are already feeling the repercussions of a ‘College Education’ and Lacks Parenting combined with a unhealthy dose of TDS and it is already a Tough road to hoe for them.
Your friends were on the 10 side of a 90/10 issue. A shout out to our indoctrination institutions.
The trouble with going to my HR department is that I work in the office that would handle something like this, and my department head was one of the ones in this post (smaller company in a smaller town). That and the fear of reprisal is the only reason I do not go directly to the company’s owners with the info and evidence I have. I unfortunately am not in a place that I could risk my job. Not sure what the proper decision would be in this situation, but I know that until i find a new job I’m not going to rock the boat. But when I do find a new job I am going to go scorched earth on this place and let the owners know everything that I know from working at the company for almost a decade.
I have also decided to just keep to my self as much as possible, and keep things truly professional in all interactions with these people. I may have to work with them but I do not have to like them or give them any more attention than what is necessary for my position. Thank you to every one that responded to this post.
Appreciate the sharing. I too live and work in a similar environment. I try to remain calm and cool, to keep my own civility.
They are so far and deep into their belief system. I figure if I do not act like them, I can at least by example, show them that others who do not share their view - can be decent and responsible.
If there were a murder were of someone I might not share values with, I hope I’d not partake in a Meme about them, especially in a workplace.
My first instinct is going to the supervisor above all of them, and to HR/Personnel. Some of which I did have to do. And consulting an attorney; if unaffordable, some legal aid foundations exist.
Either way, I’d support the idea of your finding employment elsewhere. Staying there - I cannot imagine how painful that must be, especially if you have good work ethics, you can be happier and more successful in a more positive organization.
Of course, it’s your life and your decision. Respect and well wishes to you utmost.
^THIS.
You are way above their level of gutter. By all means explore other employment. Might I also suggest not letting anyone know your plans for other opportunities etc. as these types of mentalities are spiteful and can seek to drag you down to their level. Watch your back brother and good luck.
I play poker online once a week with people I have met over the years and other friends of theirs I have never met in person. A couple of them never miss an opportunity to make a snide comment pushing their TDS. I focus on taking their money and don’t respond any more than I would respond to a flock of quacking ducks. They’re stuck in a rut and they’re not worth the trouble. Rise above QUACKERS!
NEVER TELL THE ENEMY YOUR PLANS!
Some Folk’s today have NO FILTER (In my day we said of these ‘People’ ‘They came down here without a playbook’ on how to act. These folk’s who wish for, cheer another’s death are very sick. Maybe it’s simply TDS, but I believe it’s much sicker.
Avoid @ all costs if you can.
Misery absolutely loves company Don.
You are correct my good Sir,
Did you ever notice how unhappy, angry, grumpy, bashful, sneezy, dopey, moronic the Looney Left are?

Hopefully she just blurted out the Bin Laden name to make you stumble. If she is really equating Bin Laden, the murderer of 3000 Americans to Charlie Kirk who invited people to open debate, she has serious issues. What she is thoughtlessly saying is you can kill if you disagree. Sounds as though she is totally indoctrinated with hatred and probably lives in a left-wing echo chamber where she gets her one-sided misinformation.
