IDK. I imagine it’s good to “check your local listing of laws”, such as online, calling or emailing. Some states’ laws require we tell, others only if we are asked.
Anyone can tell an officer if they want, heard that some officers appreciate it, heard civilians say do not volunteer to “open your mouth”.
