Church Active Shootings & Demons

I do carry everywhere I go in Texas.

Right now I’m watching my puppies and sitting next to the pool in my back yard.

My drink is covering my holstered weapon.

Good morning @SkippySanchez and thanks for the question. While I am a licensed agent, I am also a USCCA Certified Trainer and my families protector!

*“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” ― [Edmund Burke in a letter addressed to Thomas Mercer].

His publicly published essay on the topic contains the following version:

"When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle."

–Edmund Burke, Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents 82-83 (1770) in: Select Works of Edmund Burke, vol. 1, p. 146 (Liberty Fund ed. 1999).

Burke was an Irish philosopher and statesman in the 2nd half of the 18th Century.

As for the questions posed by the OP, I will only address the one about demon possession.

It is not a prerequisite for a human being to be classically possessed by demons before shooting up a church or burning down a daycare center full of children.

In the USA each year, between 600,000 and 800,000 babies are murdered by licensed physicians (abortion), the vast majority of whom are not foaming at the mouth, tearing at their own flesh, and ranting profanities. Were the Nazis demon possessed? What about the Communist Chinese currently engaged in genocide? I interviewed a number of defectors from the USSR, and none of them were demon possessed. Yet, the USSR butchered and oppressed untold millions of human beings.

Ask me if I believe in demons. I do. Do I believe they afflict, or torment, or tempt people to do horrible things? Of course! That’s their entire mission. But I believe they are far more effective and efficient in stoking mankind’s inhumanity towards one another when they are subtle…invisible…almost silent; when their evil deeds are mis-labeled and misdiagnosed by people with fancy sounding job titles, degrees, and government licenses. They work best in the darkness and shadows and fog of the TRUE spiritual warfare, which goes on every second of every day in every corner of the universe. Most of us don’t notice. Many of us are in denial. But nearly all of us are in denial about the fact that demons are actually unnecessary, because we…ourselves…are capable of horrifying wickedness without supernatural intervention.

Glad to have you here @Maxx! I know there have been a lot of questions about group rates for USCCA memberships and how to start up a church security group. Thanks for the added support in those areas!

How do I locate different people’s post without scrolling through all of the post?

Hello @Maxx! I’m from Miami, FL and I am one of the leaders of the security ministry at my church. We’ve been looking at forming an armed teamed, but the legal aspects are our only concern. Can our ministry get into legal trouble if the security ministry servers carry firearms while only having a CCW but NOT a security G license?

Welcome to the family @Jorge24 and god bless you.

Hi @Jorge24 and thanks for your post and question. My suggestion would to be to reach out to an attorney in Florida and even your local law enforcement to get better clarification on this matter. Unfortunately, I am not a lawyer and would not be able to confidently answer your question.

If you are a USCCA member, make sure to take a look at your attorney network (located in your member dashboard) for a list of attorneys in our network in Florida.

I agree with @Maxx about seeking legal advice from a lawyer in your area @Jorge24. I looked into this for the church I attend. Louisville has an armed security guard licensing requirement but Kentucky does not.
Your church should also consider adding a law enforcement/armed security rider to their liability insurance policy if you decide to put together an armed team.

of interest… perhaps… many people say they believe in angels… yet oddly enough do not believe in demons…

I find this strange… as demons are supposed to be fallen angels… so???

if one believes there are angels… why do some believe there are no fallen angels???

thinkin there may be a logic… disconnect?

perhaps these are the same people that believe all humans are inherently good…

despite historical evidence to the contrary…

People in Western countries often seem to want to pick and choose what they believe, as if God allowed Christianity to be a buffet. I prefer to listen to what God says about things, and go with that.

Methinks they had the wrong guy on their security team. Takeaway for churches is to be very careful who you put on your team-especially if you allow them to be armed.

So sad. What a black mark on churches and church going gun owners.
