CA Legal AR Pistol & Folding Stock

I been looking into AR Pistols and folding stocks for california residents. What I understand is there isn’t a overall length for ar pistols and as long you follow Assualt Weapon ban laws you can have folding stock on your AR pistols.

Any other information about this anyone can offer?

I believe you just made that AR short barrel in a SBR which will require a federal tax stamp

If you have a “stock” folding or not on your pistol then you are in possession of a short barrel rifle which runs into legal issues on the federal level and I would bet on the CA level as well. A pistol brace on a AR may or may not be legal in CA. I can’t keep up with all their anti self defense laws.

I haven’t really looked into the CA “assault” rifle/pistol regulations in awhile. But I know there used to be a lot of restrictions like no pistol grip, single shot or fixed mag only, etc., ad infinitum. Make sure you know all the regulations involved before trying to proceed down that path in CA!

I usually go to CalGuns and get the Librarian’s opinion on the matter but their website is comatose right now.
