First, its not hate speech… second… I’ve read tons of hate, insults and name calling on this site.

Do keep in mind that violent crime rates have been dropping for a long time. The last decade or so has been an historic low in violent crime.
Media/social media may make it appear otherwise, but, check the FBI UCR or whatever equivalent

I don’t know where you are getting your info, but what i"m reading on conservative sites is that murder is up as much as 35% in some major cities, a huge increase in flash mob robberies, etc.
Time magazine (certainly not a friend of conservatives) says > " 2020 Ends as One of America’s Most Violent Years in Decades".

I am referring to violent crime not solely murder, total violent crime, I think, more closely represents the threats a person might potentially use a firearm to defend against.

He said he pulled his gun out, Shield 2.0; 5 were there…3 left and other 2 followed onto a main road then left. He never pointed it at anyone. Keep driving calmly. He’s done armed security. Been unarmed security almost 5 years and been a ccw holder almost a year. So he stays lawful, regulated and proficient.

I’ve had this discussion with my kids (both now adults) and loved ones many times.
If you are driving and see trouble ahead, go the other way. If you can’t, then follow these simple rules:
- Make sure your windows are up and doors are locked.
- Dial 9-1-1 and stay on the phone with the operator. Tell them where you are, your current situation (you fear for your safety), and request immediate help from their agency (Police, Sheriff, etc.).
- DO NOT allow your vehicle to be stopped for any reason. You are in a 5,000 pound vehicle, and the crowd is on their feet (or in this case, on ATVs). DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO STOP YOU - under any circumstances. This doesn’t mean, “turn them into speed bumps”, it means do not let them stop your car. Beep your horn (lay on it if necessary) to alert the crowd you’re there and bring attention to yourself (bystanders, potential witnesses). Did I say, DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO STOP YOUR CAR?
- Keep moving until you see the LEO help you requested - no matter how long or where that might be. KEEP the 9-1-1 operator on the phone until you are in the presence of the LEO.
- If they break a window and try to get into the vehicle, make sure the 9-1-1 operator hears you screaming for help, and put the gas pedal to the floor. Make sure you stay in the road and don’t crash, and do not stop until you’ve either (a) found the LEO dispatched to help you, or (b) you’re at the police station.

I’m not suggesting this as an action, but I’ve long thought that if someone was outside my car window with a weapon, I would turn the wheel right and hit reverse, then hope a jury would see it as my only option in self defense.

The obvious way to prepare to escape a situation being described is to make sure you don’t live in a blue city or state. Otherwise, you may be in a position that will lead to death or prison regardless of what you do.

First mistake is “defenseless”. I’m 85 and always armed. Maybe they’ll win in the end, but they will damn well know they’ve been in a fight. I always have two reloads giving me either a total of 15 or 45 rounds depending on the weapon. All are either red dot or lazer equipped so I guarantee there will be some sore assailants.
Secondly, any car, pickup or SUV is heavier than a motorcycle or off road ATV. Run over the bastards or shove them out of the way and never stop for a red light or anything else.
Third, while evading the mob use your cell to call 911 and get help on the way.
Sorry, but a truly “defenseless old man” has no business being alone on the road at any time.

uscca is a great organization but it is a shame some of the members think if you are not a republican you are an enemy, i am neither a republican or democrat, i don,t have a problem with either as long as it in not the trump cult pupit;s, and i am not a biden fan either,but if it was one sided where would we be ?
