Why should I buy expensive ammo for daily carry?

I try to “Keep it real” for folks that choose to go armed in our sporadically-hostile environment.

The one and only answer to that would be. YOUR LIFE DEPENDING ON THAT AMMUNITION WORKING.

Absolute agreement, sir. I change out my carry loads 2x/year, and shoot off the past evolution’s carry rounds and re-purpose the emptied brass into reloaded cartridges. Those get shot in practice and recreational shooting scenarios. Frequently. I have yet to have any of those expended carry loads in 40 S&W or 45 ACP fail to function and fire for any reason in my pistols.

I buy the recommended grain for my gun then find the best ammo. For my Ruger LC9s it;s Hornady criticle defense 115gr 9mm. For my full size 9s its the +P 135gr Federals

I know they are expensive but you get what you pay for. Federal Premium HST are good rounds. I have used Remington 9mm FMJ cheap rounds to shoot at the range. And it is great that you have not had a problem with them but I would go with the Federal ammo.
