Watching Joe Biden fall - again - That’s exactly what I thought.
Oh, hey! That’s exactly the speech I was going to post to corporate chat of my employer, when I decide I need to be fired. Where is MY history month?
We have Independence. Day We can celebrate all our constitutional rights.
Sorry, didn’t mean to rain on anyone’s parade.
Why dont th a t do for the other groups then?
Advertising that you carry is akin to pinning a “kick me” sign on your back for the left and every law enforcement agency/official who believe that gun owners are dangerous.
Yea Im not into open carry at all that mutes the point. Not to mention while someone is behind you wen ur I n a line paying for something and you’re card or cash is in one hand and wallet in the other you can be disarmed real fas r and dont think you can’t be. And as far as particular lifestyles go that altho I don’t condone i I dont have the time to chase around certain people as long as they dont pester me.
Many people, especially in slave states, might be uncomfortable revealing that information.
OTOH, the Alphabet Mafia wants to throw their views in your face.
That’s what pepper spray is made for.

Sounds like a plan.
Hubris month for the left
There are three gays and one Trans in my extended family, so I’ve had contact with both. I have never had a problem with gay. Most of the gays I’ve dealt with (even beyond my family) don’t seem to have an Asshole Quotient any greater than the “normal” population, so they’re not really that much different to deal with than you or me.
Tran’es, OTOH, are a different duck. Those I’ve encountered (again beyond my family) are (by and large) overly aggressive, disagreeable, and belligerent. Their organizations flatly lie on nearly every front, refusing to acknowledge reality (i.e., A man can never be made into a woman, a man can never be pregnant, etc.). Their efforts to muzzle anyone who disagrees with them and to destroy said people are simply unacceptable. Then they wonder why there is so much resistance against their cause.
Were it one of my family, even more so for my immediate family, I would support that person, left, right, up, down, in any way I could. And, in my mind, that’s the way it should be.
"but they are not entitled to safe space for their opinion”
Where on EARTH did you get that? You appear to be aware of the Second, but have you ever heard of the First, or read it?
The 1A? Is this when they speak, and you can answer with “you need to see a psychiatrist”, or with “nice try, groomer!”
Safe spaces dont mean physical safety, they are echo chambers, where certain ideas are untouchable by criticism.
I’m aware of all of the Amendments. I can speak for my POV.
Numerous of my family members are part of the LGBTQIA+community. The only issue I have with the LGBTQIA+ community is the idea of coercing my speech, I don’t care where anyone puts their naughty bits or who they put their naughty bits with or even if they use their naughty bits. I don’t care. The idea that words are violence if I do not call a member of that community by their preferred pronouns. That is a problem, because at that point you are violating MY free speech. The 1st Amendment works both ways.
I will not be bullied, shamed, or coerced by any group that wishes to abrogate my rights. That includes family.

. But don’t expect me to embrace things that are untrue just because it doesn’t fit their truth. There is no, their truth, or my truth. Their is only the truth.

I’m in AZ, where we have Constitutional Carry. However, our CCW was passed in ’94. My wife and I got ours shortly after that. In 2009 Constitutional Carry was passed.
AZ has always had an open carry for the whole of my lifetime, so I carried from the early 70s on. I only ever had one issue. Going to the range one day, the road was temporarily closed due to an accident. I was wearing a jacket that partially covered the gun with the barrel “hanging” out. While we were milling around, the young dep’ty, minding the roadblock, came over and said I was in violation and he could “run me in” if he wanted to. At that point, I mentioned that he was dressed just like me and that if I was, he also was in violation. He then told me he was a cop and it was OK for him to carry in that manner. That’s when the fight started. I demanded he get his supervisor out there; right now, then proceeded to give him my standard lecture when I ran into a cop with that attitude. “You are a civilian, just like me. The same laws that apply to me also apply to you, so if I’m in violation of open carry. So are you etc., etc.” By the time the supervisor arrived, he’d decided he didn’t want to “run me in.”
I’m afraid your reply failed to address the question asked. At the same time, I agree with your feelings. Several people in my extended family are gay or trans as well and t
he issue you have with them is the same issue I have.
However, what I asked was where you got this statement:
"but they are not entitled to safe space for their opinion.”
They ARE entitled to a “Safe” place. However they have to accept that they may get feedback on their opinions. But the do have the right to express, no matter how much we might dislike it, their opinions.
We can say anyone is entitled to a safe space. The only way to make a space safe is to remove all of everyone’s freedom and ability to interact with that safe space and every persons safe space is going to be different. That’s not what the Constitution promised. The Constitution guarantees our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness
. Nothing about safe spaces.
But since we want to talk about safe spaces. Where is my daughter’s safe space, why does someone who is a biological male have the ability to invade my daughter’s safe space, why does a biological male have the ability to compete in my daughter’s safe space in sports.
There is an easy fix. Make a “trans” league for biological males who identify as women to compete in. Same thing for bathrooms.
With all of that said…
I make my safe space… No one else.

I think we are in agreement on how the 1A works, and arguing semantics of “safe spaces”.
I actually do believe, that depending on the circumstances, who the speech is directed at, that there is a line that separates civil rights from Miranda rights, and a lifestyle from a crime.
