I believe in innocent until proven guilty. As far as break-ins I wouldn’t know, nobody would have a reason to break down my door because it doesn’t have a lock. One doesn’t have to be a criminal to be violent. If you shot and killed them, how could they prove they were not going to murder you. It makes no rational sense to me. The only rational sense it makes is to discourage break-ins. Then again we are in different environmental situations.
That is what the locks are for!!!

This response in the public forum for this article pretty much sums up the attitude around here…

No member of my family will need to he huddeled on the floor talking to dispatch and no officer will need to be placed on adminstrative leave. Don’t enter houses that aren’t yours. That’s a good question there @Robert1246, how would I know he/she/they/it were going to murder/kill me until I’m actually dead? Well, I guess the only way to be absolutely certain is to leave the door unlocked and wait for the visitor to kill me, R and Nic then I’d be absolutely certain of their intent. No need for 2A, no need for EDC, no need for USCCA…

@Robert1246 I have disclosed the very edges of my past on here, so let me help you out. There are people out there that I know would welcome your gracious welcome into your home, in fact they would probably thank you for making their task that much easier. These are not stupid people, they LOOK for victims with the mind set you speak of and are ready willing and able to exploit everything you offer them. They may not kill you, they may not rape you but causing injuries to you is well within the realm of their profession. I hope and pray you are simply being an antagonist here and that in real life you are smarter with your personal protection.

In my first CCW permit class we were taught the difference between knowing is someone wanted to murder us or just wanted material possessions. It is not worth taking a life to save personal possessions. It is only worth taking a life to save innocent lives.
