Bay Area Jewish leaders are calling on Richmond Mayor Eduardo Martinez to resign after he reposted several LinkedIn posts promoting conspiracy theories that blamed Israel for the mass shooting at Bondi Beach in Australia.
Screenshots captured by the Jewish Community Relations Council Bay Area show Martinez reposting content from a Palestinian activist and professor who speculated that an Israeli soldier might have committed the Bondi attack, claiming that “paid actors have a history of carrying out false flag, anti-Jewish attacks in Australia and then blaming others.”
Another repost featured an image of a Star of David alongside the caption: “The root cause of antisemitism is the behavior of Israel & Israelis.”

Democratic lawmaker arrested for fraud
Democratic Georgia State Representative Sharon Henderson was recently arrested on federal charges of fraudulently collecting pandemic-era unemployment benefits while campaigning for and serving in public office.
Prosecutors allege Henderson improperly received $17,811 in COVID-19 unemployment assistance, Knewz.com has learned.
The United States Congress consists of 541 individuals in total, including 100 Senators and 435 Representatives from the 50 states.’’

“ Police are responding to an active shooter alert just before 1 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield.
The West Bloomfield Police Department sent out an alert, urging residents to avoid the area.
The Reform Jewish synagogue is located at 5725 Walnut Lake Road.

The alleged gunman responsible for the shooting that occurred inside an Old Dominion academic building on Thursday has been identified.
Fox News journalist Karol Markowiczreported, “I’m reliably informed that the alleged attacker of Old Dominion is Mohamed Jalloh.”
She added, “The same Jalloh who was previously convicted of providing support to ISIL.”
Fox News reporter Bill Melugin said he is also hearing that the Old Dominion shooter is Mohamed Jalloh.
Jalloh, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Sierra Leone, was sentenced to 11 years in prison on a terrorism charge in 2017.
NBC News also reported that Mohammad Jalloh, who was recently released from prison, has been identified as the Old Dominion shooter.

Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, a former member of the Army National Guard, was arrested on July 3 for attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). According to the complaint, Jalloh is alleged to have attempted to provide services by assisting in the procurement of weapons to be used in what he believed was going to be an attack on U.S. soil committed in the name of ISIL. In addition, the complaint alleges that Jalloh attempted to provide material support to ISIL by providing money to assist in the facilitation of individuals seeking to join ISIL.
Assistant Attorney General for National Security John P. Carlin, U.S. Attorney Dana J. Boente of the Eastern District of Virginia and Assistant Director in Charge Paul M. Abbate of the FBI’s Washington Field Office made the announcement. Jalloh will make his initial appearance today at 2 p.m. EDT before U.S. Magistrate Judge John F. Anderson of the Eastern District of Virginia. According to court documents and court proceedings, in March 2016, a now-deceased member of ISIL brokered an introduction between Jalloh, 26, of Sterling, Virginia, and an individual in the United States who actually was an FBI confidential human source (CHS). The ISIL member was actively plotting an attack in the United States and believed the attack would be carried out with the assistance of Jalloh and the CHS.
According to court documents, Jalloh met with the CHS on two occasions in April and May 2016. During the April meeting, Jalloh told the CHS that he was a former member of the Army National Guard, but that he had decided to quit after listening to online lectures by Anwar al-Aulaqi, a deceased leader of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. Jalloh stated that he recently had taken a six-month trip to Africa, where he had met with ISIL members in Nigeria and first began communicating online with the ISIL member who later brokered his introduction to the CHS.
During their meeting, Jalloh also told the CHS that he often thought about conducting an attack and that he knew how to shoot guns. Jalloh praised the gunman who killed five U.S. military members in a terrorist attack in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in July 2015, and stated that he had been thinking about conducting an attack similar to the November 2009 attack at Ft. Hood, Texas.
WTKR provided an update on the shooting at ODU and shared that one victim has been killed and two others have been injured in the shooting.
The gunman has also been reported deceased. “

“ The suspect in Thursday’s attack at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan, has been preliminarily identified as Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, according to three law enforcement sources who spoke to Fox News.
U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed the name to Fox News and provided details of his immigration history.
Officials said Ghazali was born in Lebanon in 1985 and entered the United States on May 10, 2011 on an IR1 immigrant visa as the spouse of a U.S. citizen.
According to DHS, Ghazali applied for naturalization on Oct. 20, 2015 and became a U.S. citizen on Feb. 5, 2016. Authorities say Ghazali lived near Dearborn, Michigan.
Law enforcement officials cautioned the identification remains preliminary as investigators continue confirming the suspect’s identity following the attack.
