You write like a smart man but this says different you can’t honestly be comparing Hitler and his treatment of the Jews to Trump sending illegal immigrants that have broke laws here or would not have been allowed to enter if vetted.

The documentary, “Ordinary Men: The Forgotten Holocaust” on Netflix is worth watching. It asks how otherwise educated, reasonable men could be convinced to willingly enlist in and participate in Einsatzgruppen killing squads where they literally shot millions of people, A government paycheck is powerful lure,

You guys are just amazing at how you can miss a simple point … Blow it all up … Let me dumb it down for you… The point was people hiding people and how history views it now … Yes I used references from the past things people have done … It was a comparison to how they felt at the time… Not a lesson in Equivalency

I swear you are too caught up in your own bullshit … To have a Intellectual conversation … Constantly missing the point…

For the record I also mentioned the underground railroad …

it’s like electricity, you have to make sure the sparks connect.

To be clear on this… I am not advocating it is the same … The closest I got to that was saying they both are headed to possible deaths … Basically raising the ante, of what would you do. If you know the possible outcome…

Come to CA and investigate the Democratic lawmakers who made CA a “sanctuary” state.

Good luck with that. In 1997, the US Supreme Court in Prinz v United States held that the federal government cannot ‘impress into its service—and at no cost to itself—the police officers of the 50 States.

The opinion in that case was written by Anton Scalia, no less. Chief Justice Kennedy and Justice Clarence Thomas concurred in the opinion. Prinz would have to be overturned to impress local officials into becoming immigration enforcers, which would require Kennedy and Thomas to reverse themselves.

Here’s the Wikipedia summary …

There is a process of deputization, where by federal agents of federal agencies have deputized state, and local law enforcement officers in to the USMS Regional Fugitive Task Forces to augment their numbers, and opportunities routinely.

In fact there was a case where one gang affiliate murdered an NYPD officer, or detective who had been so deputized as a federal agent on a joint task force.

The killer though as a NY LEO he got away with murder not being subject to a death penalty because NY had abolished that even for killing an LEO.

But, the federal government still uses the death penalty, and as the NYPD LEO had been a deputized a federal agent he was tried, convicted, and sentenced for the murder of a federal agent, and executed.

Where NY would not go.

So, I don’t know how that plays with that particular decision.

Where a LEO voluntarily gets deputized vs. drafted, or “gang pressed” into federal service.

The SCOTUS opinion allows local authorities to voluntarily assist federal authorities but prohibits the feds from mandating or involuntarily obligating local authorities to enforce federal laws.

Ironically, the Prinz decision involved an effort by federal authorities to enlist local law enforcement in the enforcement of federal gun control statutes. Without the Prinz decision, federal authorities could “deputize” local authorities for all manner of federal laws – like arresting tax cheats, enforcing federal marijuana laws in contravention of state laws, enforcing federal/EPA environmental laws, enforcing federal health directives (e.g., HHS’s mask and vaccine mandates), etc. etc.
