â Boulder police have arrested 36-year-old Taylor James Rose of Arvada, Colorado, for assaulting the University of Colorado Turning Point USA chapter secretary with a hockey stick while on rollerblades.
The unprovoked attack, which the victim described as âpolitically motivated,â occurred just after 7 p.m. on October 23.
The victim, Nathaniel Ellis, a CU Boulder student, was riding his bike when Rose allegedly called him a âfascistâ before striking him with the hockey stick.
Rose was arrested on Thursday and charged with second-degree assault, a felony.
Deputy District Attorney McKenna Mayfield explicitly noted the incident was a âpolitically motivated unprovoked attack.â
Police spoke to a second person of interest, a rollerblader seen with Rose shortly before the assault, who was observed posting flyers near the scene. He is not currently a suspect and is cooperating with detectives.
In a press release about the case, the City of Boulder briefly summed up the incident and charges, but added, âTo protect the integrity of this active investigation and future prosecution, the Boulder Police Department is unable to release more specifics at this time.â
According to independent reporting from AntifaWatch, the attack followed the doxxing of Ellis by local Antifa groups who were demanding that he was a âNazi.â
Rose has allegedly been associated with Denver Communists, where he appeared to introduce himself as an anarchist from Arvada in chat logs discussing protests.
The group was recently spotted at a âNoKingsâ protest carrying a sign reading âCharlie Kirk had it coming,â referencing the TPUSA founder.
Journalist Andy Ngo added, âColorado Antifa groups Front Range Antifa and Colorado Springs Antifa put out a hit list on a 19-year-old TPUSA student leader at the University of Colorado, Boulder shortly before he was beaten by someone with a hockey stick near campus. Antifa put their logos on the hit list flyer to make it clear who was responsible for the call for violent direct action. Antifa accuse the teen of being a member of various âNaziâ groups.
Ngo continued, âThe flyer was shared across social media by leftists, including the communist group Boulder Students for a Democratic Society. Convicted communist terrorist Bill Ayers was a member of the SDS.â
Despite the serious nature of the charge, Rose was released on a personal recognizance bond, with his next court date set for November 4.

People who challenge with additional facts help us. The others just waste their time, and if we allow them our time and other resources. This is why a few on here are blocked by nearly everyone. They continue to post. Surely not normalâŠ

This is American we all have the right to offer our opinions. It seems ridiculous to me if someone offers their opinion and doesnât want to hear other opinions why offer their opinion in the first place.

See this is what I am referring to. You make a good argument. This is what I enjoy. If I analyze your comment I see you say I listen to the opinions of other cultures. I listen the the opinions of other people of other cultures. We should stop the people that hit and rape women and daughters so the cancer doesnât grow. Changing what is written changes nothing. It is like trying to stop crime with laws. There are a lot of people that do bad and wrong and you are right I do adore them. I adore them enough to stop them from doing the bad and wrong they are doing. I believe in loving the person and hating the sin. Jesus believes this also that is why Jesus is my mentor.
