Awareness, paid off today

I can not remember ever having to. I remember once almost having to shoot a cow and I have taken shots at coyotes. Never in a public setting.

I can’t say I have ever had my hand on my weapon just for being out in a public setting. It would ā€œcause alarmā€ which is against the law in Texas. The only way I can have my hand on my weapon is in direct response to an attack.

I have, however, had my EDC knife in hand many times in public just because I didn’t feel right about something. Also, when coming out of the bank on payday, I have a roll of quarters in each fist. I gotta do laundry.

During the bank trips, my EDC is locked up ā€œSOMEWHERE.ā€ I have been stopped by the bank guards a couple times when they see the extra lump on my strong side and I show them an empty holster. They ask where the weapon is and I just say ā€œNot on my hip.ā€ They stopped asking.

I have had my hand on my grip twice. Both times in my vehicle, once on the highway with a very aggressive driver playing stupid games and the other waiting to make a turn into a parking spot at Scheels, a guy decided to act tough when I made my turn, stopped walking infront of my vehicle, threw his hands up, yelling, and approached my window.

Both times they were on camera, downloaded.

If you were carrying, you should have held him for police, stalking if nothing else. Just my 2 cents worth.

Guy was being a fool, probably got his ass beat later that day by his own kind.

Not sure there’s enough justify it.

I was thinking that since the store Manager said they had ran this guy off on a few occasions, it might give them enough on grounds of stalking. I may be full of it. LOL

Larry231, don’t know what state or country you live in but just staring in a store doesn’t warrant illegally detaining someone. If I were to do that, I’d be arrested. ā€œKnow your laws.ā€

The store could get police to TRESPASS him.

I have never put my hand on the butt of my firearm in public or any place else. If I’m touching it I’m drawing it and if I draw it it is to put up or shoot not for show.

I’m impressed a bank guard actually noticed. I’ve never had security notice a firearm (that I known of). And Ive been through security (no metal detectors) woth guns dozens of times.

I carry a full-sized Beretta OWB on my right side. Even with my weapon locked up ā€œSOMEWHEREā€ I still have this huge chunk of plastic holster there bulging out of my shirt tail and a two-mag carrier on my left side.

An odd bulge on one side could be a cell phone holster. Bulges on both sides say weapon and magazines.

I was at gas station in Montana when my daughter asked if I was carrying. I was not.

It turned out she noticed my cellphone holster. That’s the last time I had it on my belt.

It was days from getting my UT nonresident permit, when we got home, first thing I checked was the mail and it’s there.

I live in Texas, and I agree with you. I just meant that they could hold him until Police arrived Since the store people told him that they had ran the guy off before. No telling what could happen these days.

In at least a few states that would be a crime, unlawful detainment, kidnapping, etc., or whatever that state’s laws are and how congenial the LEO is when he/she arrives. My state has no ā€œCitizen’s Arrestā€ laws.

Another good example of anti-gun laws to restrict law abiding citizens from self-defense from criminal felon SCUMBAGS with illegal guns of which laws DON’T apply to them.

Could have had every right to pummel this guy or at the very least dismantled his head from his body! Surely a few broken bones would have been nice! This is what Lt. Col. Cooper is talking about, when he say the would be robber needs to fear his victim!
If only I had those skills, I would have ripped him limb from limb! That’s him officer, over there, over there and over there. Remember this guy will be on the street again by the time I write this!
Give no quarter!

That’s helpful context. But still…a lot of security guards don’t pay much attention. I think a lot of them still wouldn’t notice.

I used to carry to an amusement park all the time. No metal detectors but bag checks. So…I always carried a bag to give them something to look at.
