Source selection must of been price over quality on this decision. Otherwise known in the acquisition world as LPTA (Lowest Price Technically Acceptable)…

Well, yeah, why would anybody spend more money to get the same thing? Or, why would anyone spend more money to do the job than is needed to get the job done?
If I need ammo to shoot an 8" circle at 3 yards out of an AR type in 5.56, for example, why would I buy Black Hills mk262 instead of American Eagle 55gr FMJ?
No different, really. Decide what you need, spend only as much as you need to spend to get what you need. Considering it’s our tax dollars at work, I appreciate at least an attempt at not buying more expensive stuff just-because
