Sale ens tonight. $.19 a round.
I track good ammo, But look for deals also
I tried a bunch of different ammo in my 5.56 Tavor, it ate all of them! Steel case, reman, heavy, light, didnāt matter, all went bang, all the cases went flying.
Now at the target? Definitely some shot worse than others. It seems to like IMI ammo though for accuracy!
Hmmmm, must be a coincidence⦠an Israeli gun likes Israeli ammunition?
Local jurisdictions carry Hornaday Critical Service ammo, so in my carry gun I have Critical Defense (same ammo, different nomenclature). Hornaday also made a āZombie Maxā round, (again same basic bullet) with a green rubber insertā¦. But I heard if that round is used in a justified self defense shooting they will take the name to mean you were carrying with the intent to cause harm or killā¦. So ādefenseā rounds only.
As for range ammo, just looking for a good deal on quality ammo, local indoor range says no steel cases,⦠soooā¦
Definitely an ammo snob when it comes to my pellet rifles though!
Even poorly made range ammo can offer you experience in clearing malfunctions.
I wouldnāt want to make a power buy of that junk though.
Iām thinking steel stuff! AKs seem to love it. Glad stateside companies are making it. I heard imports from certain countries is either drying up or will at some point.
Practice ammo, anything. Rifle or pistol, brass, steel, even aluminum my guns run it. People will tell you itās unreliable or youāre gonna screw up your gun. I donāt subscribe to that theory. I prefer to vett the firearm with the cheapest ammo available. I do prefer brass but will not pass on āotherā as practice or last ditch options. In this day and age there could come a time when āinferiorā ammo might become the ammo available.
I do however keep a reserve of quality defensive ammo.
Try out āFreedom Munitionsā sometime. I have fired many rounds of 9mm Luger with no failures and consistent results, using both their new and reman house brand. Prices are good and shipping can be free if you order above a certain dollar amount. They also offer a house brand defensive hollow point for excellent prices.
I like their ammo; YMMV.
Been there done that ⦠I had a Norma round F2F in my J frame where I had to be careful not to cycle to the next round to avert a potential catastrophic event; could have gotten ugly quickly. It only takes once to decide on a different brand with a revolver.
Been there, done that except with Remington ammo
