I am 55 work in private security. I have been permitted to conceal carry in the past and maintained that status for many years. It wasn’t until someone gained access to my weapon and I was forced to intervene did I realize that I was not as diligent as I should have been in securing my firearm. I surrendered my permit and sold my firearms.
I have returned to shooting in last few years and began replacing my guns. I now own my S&W SVE 40 compact, a Kel Tec sub 200 in 40 cal. a 22 Marlin and my Walther PPQ 9mm. I had to do some serious souls searching before I purchased my first new firearm. I needed to know that I could take the security seriously so there would never be another incident putting someone in danger. Today my main focus is on safety and security and I carry today safely and with pride.
